  • @DarceyAchin It's a reflex that every baby has

  • @Blackbullet92 @DarceyAchin

The Mamalian Reflex, adults also have this although it is a lot weaker. For it to take action in adults the water temperature has to be below freezing, There was one case of this in two teenage boys in canada, who were submerged under ice for over an hour. With one managing to survive! Fascinating!

  • @DarceyAchin Babies have a natural reflex that closes their larynx and the water goes straight down. :D

  • @Mr79Eagle No. Babies can hold their breath underwater for a limited time... Not any diff.

  • @Mr79Eagle You could die! You could die any moment!

No, it's a good idea to make children comfortable in the water, people who can't swim are more likely to drown and the better you are the safer you are.

  • SO SWEET;x

  • Poor baby!! Id never do that, what if he accidently breathed in water!

  • @sazycute1993 Umm,babies at that age are perfect for diving if your little brain didn't figure that out.

  • @carnage98kill yes but id still get a fear if he/she did. and if they did, id never feel happy about lettin it underwater. some people are just more protective than you.

  • @sazycute1993 dude. chill. the babies fine

  • 0;10.."dude..#breaths# THAT WAS AWESOME!"

  • Isn't this called the mammalian reflex or something???

  • I get that this is safe and all but I am always surprised that the babies aren't more sensitive to the chlorine.

  • aww

  • Cute

  • cute

  • cutee xD

  • it just scares me to see a baby unser water. but babies naturally dont suck in the water once it hits their face. i learned that because its just like for mothers who have underwater births.

  • It scares me 2

  • LOL hes smiling :D I think it is natural for babies not to complain. This one seems thrilled :D

  • lol, look at his happy face! He's clearly enjoying himself!

  • swimming is a natural reflex, you idiots.

  • then how come some people can't swim and drown?!?!?!?!?!

  • wow

  • Learn English PLEASE.

and because I'm educated, young child.

  • first ik english 2nd im also educated and one more thing im not a youn child!!!!!!!

  • theres nothing wrong with being 12 I'm 12

  • o ya im so sorry ik theirs nothin wrong with being 12 its just that this guy is being a jerk, sorry again

  • For all the people making negitive comments. Take a child development class why don't you. For babys swimming is like a reflex. They already know how to swim when they are born and lots of infants enjoy water.

  • Would you rather want a baby to die from being to close to the water and not knowing what to do? It's like saying you don't want to learn how to swim until an older age because you don't expect to fall in water. There are babies that die of drowning every day because they don't know how to react.

  • baby's dident hold there breath for 9 month's....and the lug's of baby's in the womb is not open there closed....why do you think babies cry when the doctor smacks there back? to open the lungs...and babies are good swimmer's cause they have less mass and they don't sink as fast.

  • the babies cry when they get out of the womb because they aren't ready for the AIR to be in their lungs, rather than the WATER and other LIQUIDS that were before.

and why do you think women have water-births? because they want to experience the first time they see their child and not have it screaming all the time.

  • It is natural instinct. Babies are known to holding their breath longer than adults. How do you think babies lived in the mothers womb? Dumb ass. It's not torture. There's actually swimming lessons for babies, so if they fall in, they can survive long enough to be rescued.

  • malditos trajo agua D>

  • the baby is good at swimming!!!

  • he would like to scream and say

    daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn faaaaaaaaaaaaather

    lool

  • lol

  • The do not shit everywhere !!

  • jännää

  • Comment removed

  • lol how does he hold his breath and know not to breath in?

  • lol good question idk maybe natural instinct?

  • This kid is a better swimmer than me...And im 20

  • that kids having a blast

  • @ilikesnowboarding123 i know ryte x]

  • Do you need a special diaper?

  • yes, you can buy special swim daipers or nappies at most stores or supermarkets. :)

  • he looked like Jack Jack from the Incredibles!

  • LOLOLOL

  • "that baby could have died" - babys reflexly dont take breath under water (this evolved because theyve been in womb)

  • hahahaha.

  • he actually liked it lol ... did you see how he was smiling

  • CUTE!!!!!!!!

  • that baby could have died. even though it was a short period of time that he was under water. but he is so cute. happy nothing went wrong!

  • ohh diving i thought it said dying

  • loool

  • omg lol

  • cute! but how do they know not to breathe underwater?

  • it's a natural reflex.

  • cute : )

  • at least get him goggles, the chemicals are horrible for a baby's eyes.

  • have you tried putting goggles on a baby? its like putting a hat on a baby.

  • yes, and actually after they realize they can see thru the goggles, they are perfectly happy to use them.

  • yeah not mine she's not havin' it

  • try letting her mess with them away from the pool. you may have better results. good luck lol

  • thanx.

i think she might just be crazy like me. i wouldn't wear them as a kid even with every adult i knew telling me to keep them on. i still don't wear 'em. so crazy might be hereditary poor kid.:)

  • omygoshhhhhh cuttteeeeee (L)

  • haha

when the baby comes up from the water its like "wtf just happened?!"

  • omg i can't even do that with my eye open

  • awesome

  • thats messed up doesnt it hurt his eyes

  • why didn't he drown?? that's awesome!

  • well....im not trying to sound all smart..but you asked the question... babies are born with an extraordinary ability to automatically clos up there lungs so water does not get in... at a certain age they learn how to hold their breath..... so they lose that ability..we all had it when we were babies.... now we dont!! hope that helped you out a little bit!

  • umm actually my sis who's 7 mon old can't breeth under water!! she golops

  • they don't necessarily close up there lungs or else they will collapse. however this is called the Mammalian Dive Reflex in which there is a laryngospasm of the upper airway in order to prevent water entry. The sensors are located on the face and this reflex is activated when water comes into contact with the face. this never really disappears but does reduce in effectiveness as we grow older thats why its kinda tough to catch our breath when we first dip into cold water kinda similar lol
