Matt Skiba is a very VERY polite, nice and kind person. I know his friend Mike Park in Ca. I was actually at Mikes house just before Thanksgiving for his daughters birthday. He had Alakaline Trio records and stuff everywhere. Cool times. Matt Skiba is cool and I love Alkaline Trio. fuck it.

I guess Matt was upset at the time because she decided to date the Jay (bassist) from Hot Rob Circuit. Mariah Rae was the merch girl for Hot Rod Circuit for a short while for some reason. Jay stayed the night at our apartment once...wierdo.

I live in Austin Texas and I knew the girl who this song is about. Her name is Mariah Rae Vincent. She met Matt Skiba when Alkaline rio was on tour with Hot rod Circuit back in 2001 or 2002 or something like that. She was living with her dad in NJ at the time. I didnt believe her till Matt Skiba came to our apartment and he let her cut his hair, and she did a terrible job (on the Halloween DVD during this song, you can hear him sing "Mariah Rae!!! Mariah Rae!!!".But she's cursed. Long story...

I believe the song is about her. I was out in Austin in 94 and crossed paths with her. She did have scars, I believe she was in a serious car accident. She had pain. She had a pixie haircut at the time. She showed me the Austin life @ 18. Dont remember much, loaded the whole trip but she showed me a kick ass time cuz some of those memories are engrained. She did move to N.J., she wrote me from there. She had pain and probably gave him pain. hehe. She was wild. I would write a song about her!
