my video gaming history started with the Atari 2600 (i know....), then the atari 800. Then the Commodore 64, Atari ST (which was epic), then finally the Amiga 1200. I have to say that I loved them all, but the Amiga was always my favorite. Finally, i got my first PC (486, oh the power), and the rest is history.
people on youtube are always arguing about which is better, ps3 or xbox 360, but on videos such as this people are arguing about which old computer is best, god i love it xD
at 1.01 i begin my ring walk with cape on 1.18 1st backflip 1.56 spray the crowd in spunk 2.12 double flip 3.06 jump rope after being suck off 4.00 decide on passivism and embrace opponent 4.02 pull shorts down 4.05 unaninmous pts win
Unbelievable, when i hear this, i wonder what all the fucking sound "specialists" do with the actual game releases ? They are ways behind the Amiga game times. They even do not come close because they do not understand what game sound means.
@XHALE303 Rubbish - could ST people use MIDI in their games? No. We had a 4-channel 8-bit sampler which gave the Fairlight a run for it's money. As a tool for professional musicians the ST had an edge, but the Amiga allowed you to make some pretty decent tunes right out of the box (well, with a copy of Sound/Noise/Protracker or OctaMED), and a MIDI interface only set you back £25 in the UK, :)
@XHALE303 Really? All the games I saw on the STFM and STE used the YM2149 for sound (with occasional sample playback via the CPU). I'm not dissing the ST for professional use in the slightest, but in order to get the best out of it you needed to spend hundreds on external gear. I was 11 when I got my Amiga, and such gear was well out of my price range. I *did* learn to write music using MED (and later ProTracker), and now use Cubase - I wouldn't have got started without my Amiga though! :)
... in fact I still have some lovely, scratchy Amiga 8SVX format breakbeats which I drop into my modern tunes from time to time (as well as a work-in-progress Psychedelic Trance remix of Nation 12's' "Into The Wonderful" from "Gods" that I've been tinkering with for a while).
Yeah, both computer had their place. Atari with its MIDI interface in music studios, the Amiga in professional video work because of its advanced video circuitry. Many people want to write off the Amiga as a games console, but it was much more than that.
i'm not sure, but i think this version of Megablast was also used by the BBC television show Tomorrow's World to demonstrate a then new surround sound system; the way the helicopter sound "moves" is certainly familiar. It was released as part of a CD with tracks mastered using the process.
Xenon 2 is at best an okay game with some nice graphics and sound, for a decent Amiga shoot 'em up play Battle Squadron! =-)
For some reason I think this CDTV version sound not as good as the original Amiga 500 version. Some sampled parts from the disk version are missing, altough there is a nice echo sometimes in this one...
Just my opinion, needn't be correct! In my opinion this song is great, but "transferred to an "original", but the original bandsong for this game was quite more interesting (sure having lower marks while listening) - this is how a CD looks like, not an sampled Amiga!
That song played by poor PC speaker is the synonyme of childhood for me! Beeep, Beeeep Beeep Beeeep, Beeep Beeeep.... The freaky shopkeeper and spider boss scared me sh*tless, but I played it anyway, cause it was GREAT. Ahhh, the memories.
This was my first computer game. Since then Nashwan Power has never released me. Unbelievable that I bought it just because I liked that freaky fish on the packing :)
Heard a remix of this today in my local shop, commented to the guy running the place about how I hadnt heard this in nearly 20 years. I remember the original Amiga version
Don't you find that you were always rubbish when you were a little kid? When I go back and do these games, I'm always amazed at how well I do at them! You'd think it would be the other way round! :D

@PAULLONDEN they were called micro computers back in the 80's. Specific built low cost computers unlike PCs

no, the eyes, mouth, 'hair-tentacles' etc are all completely different.
