I don't think RE2 and RE3 need to be remade, they are still fantastic and immersive games , if they get remade it suggests that the original was terrible in someway. You can understand why RE1 needed to get remade with its hilarious dialogue and clunky controls.

I beat the DS version of RE1 which is better then the PS1 version but WOW it was hard but this version looks awesome. I could probably get this for quite cheap now.
can you blow off a zombie's leg in this game? whenever I shoot their legs either nothing happens or they fall. I've been too busy running by them for the speed run to experiment. (which i completed) I do know you can blow off one of their arms but they can still grab you.

But the spiders do attack you head on sometimes the brown ones i think do at least. yeah what they do is run at you really fast continuously non stop with their fangs ready to claw you once they enter your hit box. But yeah you're right this is just a beta and you dont get to see the decapitation in this game either.

I typed translated "Resident Evil" to japanese in google and click on the sound button and apparently it does mean "biohazard". I thought the name "Resident Evil" was just random.
I gotta be honest capcom are dicks for changing this perfect series into a action shooter like RE4 or RE5 I still enjoy playing them because RE was more on action n big weapons than real survival like silent hill but I wish capcom would remake RE2 in this style.
I hated both RE 4 n 5 when they first released but then I got them back but this time for the wii in 2008 and playstation move version in 2011 spring.... they play much better that way.

People don't realize that Resident Evil would have been dead if it wasn't for Resident Evil 4. They've been using the same formula for all of their games and they felt like they needed something fresh. That's why RE4 got a lot of attention when it came out.
Understand that they were never going to make ANOTHER fixed camera game after this and RE Zero. So I think of RE4 and the ones after as an added bonus to the franchise. Even though the originals were where the core was.

@ussama0000 this game is let's say the proper version of RE1 with everything added that Shinji Mikami wanted to add. One of the best titles of the gamecube. Looking back at it now it is a classic, but there's a reason why Capcom won't remake or shall I say redo any of the past titles after all the criticism it got from reviewers and players alike back in the day. Try it out with an emulator if you have a moderatelly decent rig. Btw, there's no RE Scenario, what kind of game are you talking about

@KillersonicBR RE ORC dosent look that bad too many people are putting it down without even playing it the difference between ORC and 1,2,3,is its only a spin off its just to give players a diferent perspective on the series by finaly being able to play as the bad guys and i think being able to play 4 player Co-op with zombies is a major plus. L4D was a fun game but it got repetitive just by every mission being the same.
What a excellent remake of the original game. This is what Capcom should of gone with, by remaking the old games of the franchise not the fucking series. Or atleast stick with the original concept. Such a shame to see my childhood memories go down the pisser with RE4
justtt started playing this a couple days ago, and i agree with everyone else. the graphics are AMAZING for the year (2002). im freaked out by the horror ive faced so far, and i havent even gotten THAT far into the game. cant wait to see what i'm gonna run into next... D: and yes, this game requires you to THINK!
It breaks my heart this game that they gave so much devotion to a remake. Classier than any other game in the series, it's like looking at an Old Master painting- a visual masterpiece (lighting is sublime) and no matter what techology comes along it will remain that. The cut scene character models are better than RE4's.Gothic horror of this nature was supposed to be a Western thing but the Japanese showed how it should be done.I reckon that this remake was one of the inspirations of Bioshock.

This game is available for the PS3 download but it's only in the PS1 graphics, why oh why Capcomdom didn't make this gamecube remake for PS3 & Xbox 360 I have no idea. This pure horror is fantastic & I'm sure Dead Space must of got their inspiration from this classic game. The best thing about the horror with zombies is the sound, creepy music & the classic clock ticking away & then just suddenly stopping. Get Resident Evil 6 like this & go back to your roots. Silent Hill: Downpour example.
@scuicidalrazor93 This REmake is better than Resident Evil Zero. RE0 has some very flashy cut scenes at the start but, overall ,the in game graphics are much greyer and grainier than this REmake. RE0 also has a bit of an annoying partner switch system and, instead of treasure chests, you can leave items anywhere (which makes things potentially harder if you need them back). One of RE0's features is that many of the enemies are insects but it just makes the game a bit 'icky'. REmake is classier.
@Picnicl i thought it was alright but it really lacked the scare level the ones before it brought. the camera angle i thought was a good direction to take because the older camera started getting a little tedious but i didnt like how they went into more of a mindless shooter. what i think would be cool is if they remade this res. again for current consoles and then you can have the choice if you would rather play this camera style or the current camera style i think that would be cool (not done)
@Picnicl mainly id like to have the choice of camera because there are times i prefer one over the other but older way i do like more because it bumps up the scare level. what i would also like to see in another REmake is a seperate campaign for coop. yes i do realize coop ruined res. 5 but if they pull it off right they can make it just as much survival as in single player probably not as scary but like i said they do it right they'll come real close
This game is awesome! I bought my GameCube just for play the Resident Evil series, the graphics, are superb even if they're pre-rendered, the storyline, the music, the characters, it's just so good.
I hope Capcom makes a remake for the PS4 / XB720.

I gotta be honest capcom are dicks for changing this perfect series into a action shooter like RE4 or RE5 I still enjoy playing them because RE was more on action n big weapons than real survival like silent hill but I wish capcom would remake RE2 in this style.
I hated both RE 4 n 5 when they first released but then I got them back but this time for the wii in 2008 and playstation move version in 2011 spring.... they play much better that way.

People don't realize that Resident Evil would have been dead if it wasn't for Resident Evil 4. They've been using the same formula for all of their games and they felt like they needed something fresh. That's why RE4 got a lot of attention when it came out.
Understand that they were never going to make ANOTHER fixed camera game after this and RE Zero. So I think of RE4 and the ones after as an added bonus to the franchise. Even though the originals were where the core was.

@ussama0000 this game is let's say the proper version of RE1 with everything added that Shinji Mikami wanted to add. One of the best titles of the gamecube. Looking back at it now it is a classic, but there's a reason why Capcom won't remake or shall I say redo any of the past titles after all the criticism it got from reviewers and players alike back in the day. Try it out with an emulator if you have a moderatelly decent rig. Btw, there's no RE Scenario, what kind of game are you talking about

@krone900 If you don't like them why are you looking at videos of them? The problem with the new ones is the same problem with horror movies nowadays.. it's just hollywood scares. There's nothing creepy or eerie about them. It's just things popping out and scaring you. That's not scary. It's just startling. Building an atmosphere and creating immersion is what makes something truly scary, and the newer games lack that imo. Maybe you should go look up a youtube video of left4dead or something?

@KillersonicBR RE ORC dosent look that bad too many people are putting it down without even playing it the difference between ORC and 1,2,3,is its only a spin off its just to give players a diferent perspective on the series by finaly being able to play as the bad guys and i think being able to play 4 player Co-op with zombies is a major plus. L4D was a fun game but it got repetitive just by every mission being the same.

justtt started playing this a couple days ago, and i agree with everyone else. the graphics are AMAZING for the year (2002). im freaked out by the horror ive faced so far, and i havent even gotten THAT far into the game. cant wait to see what i'm gonna run into next... D: and yes, this game requires you to THINK!

It breaks my heart this game that they gave so much devotion to a remake. Classier than any other game in the series, it's like looking at an Old Master painting- a visual masterpiece (lighting is sublime) and no matter what techology comes along it will remain that. The cut scene character models are better than RE4's.Gothic horror of this nature was supposed to be a Western thing but the Japanese showed how it should be done.I reckon that this remake was one of the inspirations of Bioshock.

This game is available for the PS3 download but it's only in the PS1 graphics, why oh why Capcomdom didn't make this gamecube remake for PS3 & Xbox 360 I have no idea. This pure horror is fantastic & I'm sure Dead Space must of got their inspiration from this classic game. The best thing about the horror with zombies is the sound, creepy music & the classic clock ticking away & then just suddenly stopping. Get Resident Evil 6 like this & go back to your roots. Silent Hill: Downpour example.

@scuicidalrazor93 This REmake is better than Resident Evil Zero. RE0 has some very flashy cut scenes at the start but, overall ,the in game graphics are much greyer and grainier than this REmake. RE0 also has a bit of an annoying partner switch system and, instead of treasure chests, you can leave items anywhere (which makes things potentially harder if you need them back). One of RE0's features is that many of the enemies are insects but it just makes the game a bit 'icky'. REmake is classier.

@Picnicl i thought it was alright but it really lacked the scare level the ones before it brought. the camera angle i thought was a good direction to take because the older camera started getting a little tedious but i didnt like how they went into more of a mindless shooter. what i think would be cool is if they remade this res. again for current consoles and then you can have the choice if you would rather play this camera style or the current camera style i think that would be cool (not done)

@Picnicl mainly id like to have the choice of camera because there are times i prefer one over the other but older way i do like more because it bumps up the scare level. what i would also like to see in another REmake is a seperate campaign for coop. yes i do realize coop ruined res. 5 but if they pull it off right they can make it just as much survival as in single player probably not as scary but like i said they do it right they'll come real close

This game is awesome! I bought my GameCube just for play the Resident Evil series, the graphics, are superb even if they're pre-rendered, the storyline, the music, the characters, it's just so good.
I hope Capcom makes a remake for the PS4 / XB720.
