wow, amazing song, kind of like silent lucidity in feel. But actually a better song in every respect. Geoff Tate is so blessed by God to have such a beautiful daughter, Great Great singer too. I love her vocals on this song its Awesome!

It's excellent because, she isn't forcing her voice, she is singing as a natural little girl that misses her father (in the context of a daughter of a soldier or in her case a daughter of a rock star on tour) . It would have been easy for the band to have hired a professional little girl singer who'd have hit the right notes and warbled all over it...and it would have lacked the emotional punch the song was/is trying to convey...it this respect, she has achieved what many a trained singer cannot

Not Emily. She's only 10. His daughter Miranda is engaged to the new guitarist Parker Lundgren. I talked to her at the Walla Walla Winery show last September before they were engaged and she couldn't stop talking about him. Cute couple!!

I just saw this show Saturday in Atlantic City and I guarantee you she wasn't lip synchng. I was directly in front of her when they played this and she was singing the whole song. It was a fantastic show!!

Do you honestly believe Geoff would have his daughter lip sync this live. Could you imagine what would happen if something went wrong with the tape while she was out there performing. It would be an absolute embarassment to her and I don't think Geoff or Susan would ever set her up for something like that to happen. Emily doesn't have an incredible voice that's hard to replicate, it's a standard kids voice, that's what they were aiming for on this song.

Wow thats kind of emotional and even though the song is about soldiers being away I'm sure it is exactly the same with musicians being away from their family. I like how Geoff's daughter speaks like him though especially when she says "here"
