If it was weird before it is even weirder now!! That essay was made by Rafter when we first started dating and because we started dating!! It was made because I love dancing and was looking for a man that would take me out dancing. Rafter was hesitant, but only for a short moment and then he went with me and the rest is history. And now perfect strangers know even more about me and rafter! aiii! By the way, Rafter thinks it is cute that you read that essay:)
Ok, so seriously this is Awesome! Really Awesome! It has taken me a long time to check out all the videos made for Rafter's songs, but sure glad I finally got around to it. It is the weirdest feeling to see a video with a bunch of people I have never met singing along to a song that my fiance made about me. So weird!!!! But cool...but weird...but cool...but weird:)
Wow, thanks! Yeah, it was weird for me to do a music video for somebody I've never met! And since I was meeting all the actors in the video for the first time as well (except for my wife--yellow dress--and my sister in law--green dress) I thought I'd make every effort to introduce what little I know of Rafter to the group. So I hung Mia Ferm's polaroid above the welcome table and I read Rafter's essay "Dancing" aloud to the group before we shot the dancing segment.
That's it exactly! A casting session is pretty much a "making of" tape (and even on some DVDs you'll see the original auditions of the stars of the movie. On the Rushmore Criterion DVD there is Jason Schwartzman's original audition for the role of Max Fischer). The only novelty to the idea here is that there is no actual "show" behind which this video was shot. This is the show.
