  • Oh, I get it, "maiden attempt" not "maiden flight".

  • Is not coanda effect :) Please read literature before.

  • What the world's been waiting for: A remote controlled Flymo!

  • it says "maiden" fucking idiots. Thanks for sharing, good work, it looks it will fly soon after some adjustments

  • I would laugh my balls off if some truck went past and ran over it

  • Thats one of those lamp shades with built in bulb cooler dick pumps

  • the air flow needs to be over the outer surface, not blown through like a helicopter

  • It is a good hovercraft.

  • if i just move it over here... i think it will work

  • the engineer behind this project was drunk.

  • Ok this is more like electric fan and im pretty sure you can use it in the summer !:D The design is wrong coz the inlet air flow rate is lower then the emission, your motor is powerful but doesnt have enough air volume to do the job.I;m born in the same country with Coanda and we study alot in school his great work :P

  • hi there :) sounds like you are familiar with coanda effect saucers . i read your comment here im going to design and make one for myself , can you help me about that ? what is the best design and what is important to have the most efficiency , i need your advertisement :) im going to start the job next month , please contact me , thank you
  • @sirkooshiar Sure, I definetly help open mind ppl and ready for the next challenge. Send me some intro of y'r project details and I promise to elaborate seriously and professional my point of view and soft adjustments. I am really happy to expand yr solid tech knowledge if need.

    Much Love ..

    Best Reagrds,

    ~Elizabeth~

  • it sounds cool when it shuts off

  • Good potential hovercraft, but forget about the coanda effect with this design.

  • the air needs to go over the body so it creates a low pressure zone upwards

  • Hecklers , he is is willing to try something different to me he is the real rc modeler'''''

  • you are doing it wrong this is not how the coanda effect works

  • te vas a tener que dedicar a hacer otra cosa, hombre del espacio .....esa lampara ni enciende ni vuela je je....

  • Man, they won't stop laghting. I don't get it. It seems like a cool idea

  • i can jump higher

  • It's great...the fan just needs to be on top...by any chance would you be able to send me a list of materials that u used to make it...

  • its a roomba!

  • un ovni!!

  • Hi Larry.

I might have some suggestions if you're still pursuing this.

From what I can tell, your design draws air in from the top, and shoots it out the bottom. This is more of a hovercraft.

To take advantage of the Coanda effect, you must seal the hole that runs through your model.

The airflow coming off the motor must strike the top of the wing surface, and then flow along it to the edge. (Where the Coanda effect does its magic.)

I am just assuming, the cameraman never takes a good look.

  • i would like to see some one make a hybreed between lifter /coanda uav.

  • Guy in the background: ''Drill some holes in it, make it lighter" lolz!!! :'D

Well done on a good effort.

  • Nice lamp...

  • The main problem is on the top and it has to do with the way the air is flowing.

  • You need to increase the air flow coming down fromt he top, pay more attention to the Original Coanda UAV's it will help you up a lot in understanding the principles.

  • muy bonito su overcraft

  • what if all of a sudden a big 18 wheeler comes along and smashes it flat like a pancake effect

  • I hear a big sucking sound and thats the money being sucked out of his wallet

  • cool hobby, nice try

  • From what I see this is everything but a Coanda effect

  • What makes you think its not the Coanda effect?

This is alledgedly built like JL naudins model which is a very similiar looking craft. It certainly uses the Coanda effect, so I would imagine that this does as well.....If perhaps a bit less succesfuly LOL

  • For a Coanda effect to occur u need to have flow over the sides, I see just a powerful fan blowing under it, but maybe I'm not seeing well :)

  • Well I cant tell conclusively from the video myself....but if it works like the JL Naudin model then it should do just that. The fan (should be an impeller to work best) would be in the little section just above the 'bowl' and should blow the air over the top equaly 360 degrees all around. Look up JL naudin's page on google and you can see how his works. Assuming he followed the same structure(which he appears to have) then this device should work the same.

  • Yes i taught the same thing yesterday after watching a similar video, You're most probably right :)

  • well thats one hell of a good road cleaner

  • HAHAHAHAHA !!!

    YES!

  • You know the old proverb.

a fool and his money will soon part due to the coanda effect.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAH

  • Hover-craft...sweet

  • did u get it to fly at any point?

  • Coanda blows! this sucks!

  • he made it all wrong :(

  • Mmmm... I don't see how can there be created the Coanda Effect. Are there inside a chamber for recirculate the air?... The air is direct to down in the video, and the coanda effect work moving it around the surface of the disk. Could exist the possibility of that you don't understand the effect correctly?. Thanks for your work and luck.

  • what is SO funny

  • you should change the title of the video to "Coanda effect UFO with Larry and the Peanut Gallery"

  • is it too heavy? lol

  • After five and a half minutes of watching this vid, I think it's save to say that this thing doesn't work as it should.

  • "After five and a half minutes of watching this vid, I think it's save to say that this thing doesn't work as it should." I think you are right !!!!

  • he got it all wrong ...is he american ?? no wonder.....

  • Well, not everyone is as ingenious as Romanian engineers. lol

  • my mum had one like thatthey called it a

    hover constalation

  • Does he think the pavement is preventing it from flying? Buddy, the thing don't work! No, wait, move it over to the left. That looks like a much better spot. ooooooorrrr that cheezy RC motor is a little too cheezy to lift it.

  • UUmm buddy like l don't think you understand the coanda effect' l have a lamp shade that can do circles around that thing.

  • here it is, this explains all those silly ufo encounters.

  • eh waist of 5 mins

  • Learn to spell loser lol.

  • ooh ouch - spelling is really important (sarcasm). learn to get a life loser lol.

  • Do you even know what a life is? You're a ufo fag lol. I looked at your profile lol.

    lolololololololoser lol

  • relax guy. Anyone who watches this clip is a ufo fag to some extent. And do you know what a life is? you're the one wasting time on weak background checks to try and form some kind of lame payout. oh yeah - you spelled loser incorrectly. What else have you got loser - besides some intellectual inferiority complex.

  • I'm a prick man. I can't help it. lol

  • sall good g.

  • Ok yeah but the Coanda really work..old helicopter use Rotor ( Dangerous ) nazi create real helicopter and know the problem about Rotor..that its for why nazi did Coanda effect, for a new generation Aircraft called ''nazi bell'' or Foo fighter from american pilot..or for me and people who know Flying saucer, called Rundeflugzeug Vril or Haunebu.

Coanda effect work don't beleive that bullshit video

  • I love the sound it makes when it powers down!

  • I think the insane sniggering going on in the background is messing up the thrust calculations.

  • You forgot he flux copaciter! or however you spell it!

    :p

  • This is all wrong...You have made a hover craft, not a coanda effect UAV because their is no air flowing over the upper surface...This is why it does'nt take off.

  • I think you are right! He just seems to have a fan sucking air through the top and out the Bottom..guess he didnt do his research or watch Jean Naudin's videos too well!

  • man, you should have called it 'hovercraft' :)

  • Too heavy for take-off! ^^

  • lol another pod person attempt at making a ufo - of course its design is not based on the coanda effect just like the avrocar - all this is is a ground effect lifter, possibly to discredit the sucessfully flying coanda lifter seen here on youboob

  • The Avrocar did'nt take advantage of the coanda effect either

  • Fans are overated.

  • the problem is that the fan moves the air under the craft. by Bernoulli this will lower the air pressure under the craft as it moves out around along the ground, you achieve a bit of height like a hover craft, but the moving air keeps the craft sucked to the floor. the fan needs to blow the air over the top side of the wing to create lift by the coanda efect.

  • No, the fan moves the air over the TOP upper surface of the craft, that is the COANDA EFFECTR, of air stickint to CURVED surfaces. SO, higher pressure below, lower-prssure (partial-vacuum) on top. The aircraft is SUCKED into the air. Henri Coanda, patents.

  • try giving it a good toss. lol

  • he forgot to add the neutronic gravitational enhancer, he'll get it right.

  • Looks like you need a little more lift and a better (easier) control system. Great looking though. keep on working on it!

  • With advanced technology such as this - we'll soon be reaching for the stars - live long & prosper. I bet those little grey guys are pi**ing their sides!

  • is it made from an old lamp shade?

  • Respect! i'm trying to build 1 of these JLN, building isn't easy. But flying the thing must be pretty hard?

    Don't give up ;)

  • If you have flown R/C helicopters (I have since 1982) for a while, they are less hard to get the hang of.

    Peace.
