Aite, getting mocked by peers who was early to subscribe and just happened to get keys. Go to Account Setting -> Privacy -> Search and Contact Restrictions

Tick "Allow only friends to send messages or share videos"

This should block most of your incoming messages. You can uncheck it a few days later when the event is ended. Hope it help!
