Typically if you drop 22 pallets at a warehouse they are to exchange 22 pallets back! at least where I went a few years back, try floor loads! non palletized Proctor & Gamble products, Tide, Pampers, Comet etc, They wont even give you pallets unless the receivers pay or exchange or its on the floor !

Take the pallets to local Fire Dept, they use them for Fire training....I've always when stuck with pallets I go to near Fire Dept....then have a broom and sweep the trailer myself after they unload and ready for next.....its always company policey to have empty trailer and ready....Wish you luck....

Some shippers will charge you [the carrier] for pallets to haul their product and if you did not have pallets to exchange upon arrival at shipper, you will not get loaded. Sometimes, it depends on how the contracts are negotiated. This is why the receiving end will give you pallets back unless you instruct them not to do so.

Hell, I would've made some money selling those pallets and no one [including dispatch] would've needed to know about it. This is when experience comes into play.

If I had a load and someone left me with a bunch of pallets and I was not too far from my home, I would take the pallets down to the garage and on my days off, I would cut them up for kindling wood for my fireplace.

@miazizdragon The load that is in the trailer gets logged onto the computer and the bill of lading is like a bill you get at a restaurant, but instead it lists the price the company charges the customer for delivering the items that are in the trailer. To get rid of pallets "LEGALLY"...sell them to a pallet broker, take them to the county dump in that area and pay to dump them. Get on the CB (since you are so good at that) and ask anyone if they need pallets and see if another driver is willing to take them. Walk into the truckstop or shop and ask them if they would take the pallets (they will charge to since they have to dispose of them now).

Marten never once told you to dispose of them illegally. Noone ever held a gun to your head!

This might be one of the reasons you didn't get a reload right away since with those pallets in the trailer, now you couldn't haul a normal load. great reality of truckin in that video ducy. in 6+ months with the "pumpkin crew" i sat for 8 days in detroit waiting at the oc behind the detroiter(great food), a week down outside of tampa at a "j", 4 days in soccoro tx, 3 days in phoenix, and many 2 or less day delays. im actually looking to get back on the road, i had to quit due to family medical reasons, hard to get on somewhere with just 6 months experience though, ill keep trying tho. anywho, keep em comin.
