Gerbe is only making $850,000 this year and for the next two years regardless if he is in the NHL or AHL. The Buffalo Sabres have $5.7 million in cap room. The reason he is in the AHL is becuse he did not prodcue any offense in the games he came up for in the NHL and needs to develop in the AHL.

well he's not in the show yet, but he's tearing up the ahl, I'm pretty sure the only reason he's not in Buffalo is because he signed one of, if not, the biggest rookie contracts and buffalo is broke and up against the cap and can't afford to pay it so he's in the AHL making less money. He will be up soon, and will be a great NHL player. He's played in 6 games for the sabres this year.
