Jon, the apps on the pre are not "web apps"; they are written using web technologies. They are fully native applications, but they're written in the with Javascript, CSS, HTML, etc. As far as I know, everything on the Pre is written with with web technologies. I am not sure if the iphone does this, but the when on a web page with the palm pre, you can turn it any way you want, not just the normal 90degree rotation. you could turn the pre screen upside down, and it will flip the web page for you. Just thought I'd point that out.

it really depends on what you're using the phone for. the pre is more business based (but not solely as much as a blackberry) and the iphone is slowly catching up with business functionality but mostly for fun and entertainment. imo, the only way anyone can "beat" an iphone is to copy it (*cough* palm) and then add even more.

IMO, the Pre is killing the iphone 3Gs, the 3G "s" is really the same as the 3g all they did was put a new 600MHz CPU in it (which the Pre has too) and added 1 megapixel to the 2mp cam it already had which makes it 3mp altogether (Pre has a 3mp cam ALREADY) and made it so it can do video which my bro's 3g can already do... the Pre is the best phone i have seen in a long time hands down.

with the exception of the tech flaw with the battery, the pre is awesome. It breaks so many rules and pulls so many things together in a way never even conceived of on any device (portable or not)! And to think, you could just throw it away, buy a new one, and not loose a single bit of information! for me being a sprint customer, I have waited for the pre since it was announced, and although not as refined as the iphone, or not having nearly the apps since it was just launched i like it. My issue is how much chearper my sprint plan is over what it would cost me to go to at&t. HUGE difference . I have At&t and the blackberry bold 9000. I just switched over to their network from Verizon, but I notice At&t's 3g isn't perfected yet. It is very spotty depending on where you live in the USA. I actually put in a preorder for the Iphone 3gs 32gb so I can experience owning a top-of-line phone like the iphone for the At&t network. I have heard issues with the RF performance from people here and other forums online. My blackberry bold 9000 seems to hold a very GOOD signal, spotty tho.

In my area I live I have weak signal which includes ALL other wireless carriers(T-mobile, Sprint, etc). Edge works in my area at a max signal of 2-3 bars =\.
