The video was great maybe when I come back home to Oregon I will have to come for a visit, one problem I thought I saw a LA Lakers sign your an Oregon brewery right Portland Trail Blazers sign should be their not the Lakers LOL..............
I just bought my first Rogue Growler all the way from Ramstein AB Germany. I don't know how it got here, if you guys sent it, or someone ordered it for us. But I sure do appreciate it! Thanks for the great beer!
I have lived here all 21 years of my life and i have only just recently tried Rogue for the fist time. Shame on me!!! It's so good. But, expensive. :^(
Almost 7 bucks for a 22 oz Dead Guy here. :^/
WTF!?
Really? Come on Rogue. You'd get more profit if your prices were lower. Because more people would buy them more often, as opposed to treating themselves with one a week. Seriously, the Dead Guy is in my top 5. ..And even though I'm only 21, I have had a lot of other experiences.
I live in North Dakota. I get to Fargo and go to Happy Harry's and get some of your wonderful beer. It is a treat and well worth the price when you consider quality materials and quality packaging. I have not found a Rogue that I consider to be really bad. Rogue and Avery are my favorites for premium no holds barred beers and ales.
I'm just trying Rogue for my first time (Mocha Porter bought from my local publix here in TN..... WOW ...is this good !.... I'm picky about my beer...cause i only drink one or two at a time.... and for those who are complaining about price..... Pffft...I think 2 bucks a beer (or 2.15 if the 6 pack is 13 bucks) is a GREAT DEAL for something this tasty !.... most bars around here charge THAT for Crap beer ...and good beers are 3.00 to 3.50 in a bottle ....
mmm.....Rogue beers. I wouldn't consider them to be that pricey. There are definitely other brewers out there that are more expensive. Unfortunately the price of ingredients has skyrocketed the past year or two so you're seeing the cost of these excellent beers go way up from where they were not that long ago. Fortunately I have a gf that works at a great liquor store so I don't have to worry about that all the time. : )
Those bringing up the issue of price of....say...Dead Guy Ale. Sure, its higher priced...but its also higher flavored AND higher alcohol content. I can put a price on those 2 items and if that means I pay $12-$13 a sixxer of Dead Guy...so be it. I would rather drink 6 pricey beers that taste great than 30 that will only give me a HUMONGOUS headache and make me piss like a horse. I understand the price thing...but when you buy a craft beer...you're buying more than just a beer.
Dead Guy Ale was my first venture into micro brew beer and have been hooked since!! no longer can I even stand the sight or smell from tthe likes of bud, coors etc. lol. Micro brews do it right all the way and Rogue is one of my top 5 favorites!
@RogueHQ That doesn't answer the question. That's obvious. I wouldn't expect any craft brewer with the name and distribution to do so, i.e a certain revenue. From what I've read on many of the bottles, generally local ingredients are used. There's got to be more to it than that. I mean a great beer is worth it sometimes--and if you have the money, all the time. I just can't pay that much for beer like that regularly unless I'm trying something new. I drink quality or it's water for me.
@WAKeele It's pretty simple. Here's how it works for us. John Maier makes the beer to his specifications. The sales people then look at what it cost to make the beer and what kind of margin we need to make to stay in business. That's the price we sell it at.
@DanBrino One of the higher quality beer--yes. The best--that's subjective. With over 1,700 breweries in the U.S. now and the poor distribution and retail network (as in handling), one can't say one brewery is the best overall other than for them self. I try on average over 300 new beers a year these days and I've had some amazing beers (to me) that run around $3-4 for a 22. I really like Dead Guy, but too pricey to make it a regular. Luckily, I live in a beer town and I brew.
Can I just say, that I LOVE that you guys sponsor the Las Vegas Age of Chivalry Ren Faire? I hope you guys NEVER stop. I cant stand going to a ren faire and ordering a Miller lite. Miller lite is what happens when you fill an empty beer bottle with water and get the leftover taste of the beer that was in it. And not even good beer! If I wanted water I'd drink it for free.
I live in Milwaukee, and there are so many great micros all over the midwest. Still, I look to the boys out in Oregon for my favorite brew Hazelnut Brown. Keep up the great work. ROGUE Nation!!!!
I live in Springfield Missouri. Not having a vehicle limits my reach but there is a brown derby down the street but I have not seen them there. There is however an even larger Brown Derby called "The International Wine Center" and I go there if I happen to be on that side of town with a friend. I haven't looked thoroughly for the growlers there but they might have them. The place is amazing. They have practically everything. Maybe they can custom order for me?
When I first started drinking beer I went straight for the micro brews and Rogue was one of them. I didn't even look at the domestics because I already knew they wouldn't agree with me. You guys make awesome beer full of flavor and character. I just wish I could find those 64 oz. sharing jugs in my area.
Micro Brews are a gimmick with silly beer names. I remain a traditionalist and raise my glass to the green bottle Nation. Deutschland,Deutschland über alles, Über alles in der Welt.
Drink whatever works for you and makes you happy. The rest of us will have to make do with our delicious American craft beers that are revered by beer enthusiasts all over the World.
I have had beers from many places and I can honestly say that most if not all of your beers are amazing. The hazelnut brown and JPA is off the charts. I also enjoy the Irish Lager. Your JPA (IPA) is best with spicy indian food or thai...I just wish it wasn't so damn expensive but all good things come with a price and yours is worth every penny. Keep making great beer.

Unfortunatly no, we don't rent out the rooms at the old town location anymore. But La Quinta is very close by and very reasonable, they even have waffles!
MMMMM, we were there last month, tried several flavors, we loved them all. After eating the great food from your restaurant we went to the bar to try out lots of flavors of beer. We didn't want to leave! Bought us a Dead Guy Ale hoodie and a bottle of chocolate beer. Thanks ROGUE Brewery for doing what you do, signed northern Canada. Maybe someday we'll visit again, did you say there were rooms to rent???
the video was unprofessional. talking about used equipment the ceo and so on The person sounded unprepared and maybe a little to much beer tasting. Who knows good day
Ate at the Newport location on bay front and it was great food and people (already loved the beer so did not suprise me to find more good flavors there). I was actually happy to find it about 3 gates down from my flight back to Hawaii at PDX also...so had to have again.....good work at both places and the brewery looked cool also, but did not have time to spend. Made it back to hawaii with several bottles and a couple glasses.....will be back agian with my next trip to Oregon.
I took the tour a couple of years ago and it was pathetic! I had to wait about 30 minutes so some annoyed waitress could leave her tables and give us a five minute, uninformative tour. And at the end they don't even give you free samples! Rouge does make great beer but $5 a bomber and this rouge nation snobbiness is absurd.
I'm sorry you had a bad experience at our facility. I hope we can make it up to you if you make it to one of our locations again in the future. Yeah we are a bit prideful when it comes to our product. We live beer and truely enjoy every aspect of the process from making it to tasting it. Guess that can make us seem a little pretentious and wierd to some people. I guess everyone gets a little goofy when they find something they really really like.
The tour guide is awesome! I'm stationed at Eglin in Florida and our Class Six carries the Dead Guy Ale (awesome) and Mocha Porter. I hope every AFB has Rogue or I'll be pissed!
As well you should be. If those guys at the pentagon can pay $800 for a toilet seat they can make sure our enlisted men and women have great beer to drink wherever they serve. Thanks for serving our country and for being our kinda Rogue.
2:18 did I see a Lakers poster? I hope you guys replaced it with a 'Blazers sign now that they're actually good! Anyway, I'm pounding down a dead guy ale right now. You guys rock! Keep brewin them and I'll keep drinkin them!
This is a great video tour. You guys rock. Cheers - and speaking of "more hops" keep your eyes open in OR for Mojo Risin' Double IPA. We may bring some to San Diego for the CBC; hope to see you there. - Dan
What attracted me to my first rogue was that crazy tap handle you guys have for the dead guy ale, since then I've been in love with Rogue brews one prolbem though your beer is rarer than a dodo in Portsmouth NH and Redhook just doesn't cut it anymore.

That's true and they make some nice beers but I think you'll have a hard time finding anyone who uses "MORE" of those ingredients than John "More Hops" Maier.
rogueless is right that place does look like a sewer. All the black you see on the fermenters is MOLD!! Black nasty mold. im just curious if they put juniper berries in their juniper pale ale yet?
Yes there are Juniper berries in the Juniper ale and that black isn't mold it's just the insulation jacket for the tank has becomed stained from the moisture. We are currently in the process of replaceing them with new clean jackets.
Why is that banner there anyway? Between the lakers thing and the CRAZY amount of RV-types that frequent the brewery, I don't go there anymore. Siletz Brewery down the road is where it's at. Rogue does have the best beer tho...
There are certain subjects that are not safe to explore in polite company. Politic's, Religion, and John Maiers pathological dedication to the LA Lakers.
The video was great maybe when I come back home to Oregon I will have to come for a visit, one problem I thought I saw a LA Lakers sign your an Oregon brewery right Portland Trail Blazers sign should be their not the Lakers LOL..............

rogueless is right that place does look like a sewer. All the black you see on the fermenters is MOLD!! Black nasty mold. im just curious if they put juniper berries in their juniper pale ale yet?
roguefree 4 years ago

He just knows a great basketball team when he sees one! =)

Your LA Lakers mural has always bothered me. Yeah, I know why it's there, but I still hate it.
