I researched Fralin pickups further and actually spoke to Mr, Fralin on the phone, all there pickups are handmade, they offer standard windings that yield specific DC resistances that they have established through "research and development". But they make pickups specifically to someones preference, people usually start with there standard wound/output pickups and tweek them to there preference from there once they have established paramiteres to work with. Disregard my last comment. Thanks
@DustinG28 Sorry Guys, I do not visit this site often, you covered the background to my specific pickups very well. They also "dirty up" really well, with smooth breakup.
I'm a little confused with the specs of the pickups. Fralin's paf's start at 7.5k and go up to 10k, and they have alnico 4 magnets. you say yours are 7.2k and 7.9 with alnico 2 magnets, it doesn't make sense, are you sure they are not the 7.5k neck and 8.0k bridge with alnico 4 magnets, I kinda need to know. lol.
nice playin man! would you advise those PUs on a LP standard 2007? cause i'm planning to change stock pick ups (burstbucker or something like that) to get some vintage tone.. Are lindy fralin PUs really the closest to gibson vintage pure paf? thank you
These seem pretty good but the closest thing to a PAF are Throbak LTD's. Wound on the real gibson machines used in the 50's and with NOS wire... Quite pricey at $450 a set but worth it IMO.
Sorry, I sold the guitar.

mmh i can't afford them.. I think I'll go for lindy fralin PAFs, they should be better than burstbuckers at least ;)

You should also check out Sheptone pickups. Great pickups at $230 a set uncovered and $260 with nickel covers.
Just do a google search for them... So many pickups these days you don't know what to buy!! lol

@fedevespa13 Yes, Fralin Pure PAF, True 60's or Sheptone Tributes are excellent. Almost anything is better than Burstbuckers (IMO)
