I danced and rocked to the Legends at Muskego Beach in the early '60's.
He and the Legends are part of my Milwaukee DNA.
I booked Sam at my Yellow Brick Road art tech venue back in 1968,
on Milwaukee's north side, Jim Liban was blowin' harp, think they were the New Blues back then, I can't remember if it was Teddy Peplinski on traps, anyone?
I still play (and sing along to) their album, "Run To The Movies". THE best band ever -- along with the Royal Lancers (I Fought The Law), Skunks, Twistin' Harvey and the Seven Sounds, Sam the Sham and the Pharoahs -- Muskego Beach Ballroom.
I played guitar with the Legends in 65 and 66. We had a great band and a great time especially at The Roostertail in Detroit. Good to see this video of Sam.
I moved out of Milwaukee in june of 63. there were quite a few very good bands from the area.
Sam McCue was the lead guitar player in the Legends. HE was a very good guitar player I think he was a Buddy Holly fan his guitar playing reflects that. It's nice to see that he's still playing. If anybody has any film on the Legends, can you please post it? thanx!!
Sam McCue is a Legend!
The Cat still sounds fantastic after 40 + years.

To Billy Joe - I remember when you and John Rondell took Sam's place at the Beach sometime in 1964. I was playing with Big Louie and the Renegades.
