The double guitar playing in the middle of the song sounds like a pink floyd tune, I can't think of the name at the moment, but it sounds similar. Anyway, I do love this song, great music, no doubt!
One of my favorite all time songs in the world graciously given to us by the one and only Tommy Shaw! It's simplicity and purity is the typical TS creative gift that transcends its magic into just about each & every song he composes. Not only soothing to the soul but relatable to the emotional backbone in us all
I know! They need to do a pirate musical based on Paradise Theater and Kilroy. A counter-balance to Mel Brooks' "The Producers" but with Sci-Fi angle. B)-~~~
memories... this is the Styx song that got me hooked, back in junior high, skating at the roller rink.... Give me the lights, precious lights... I've got goosebumps now!
yeah, no kiddin' - I love Styx. I first listened to them on the radio in 1977 playing Come Sail Away and I've been a fan of theirs ever since! Every time a new song of theirs would come on the radio I would get all excited! Go Styx! Tommy you got lots of energy that's for sure!!!
Haha, I have similar memories but I was the baby to kids from the 70's so this was already old school by the time they were babysitting me at the drive-in in early 80's. They used to play it on the record player though. This song and Dreamer by Supertramp.
this acoustic jangle is sooo tommy shaw! it's in this song, sing for the day, foolin' yourself to name a few. and i really love these three songs i've mentioned.

The intro kind of sounds like the theme to the Rockford Files.

I keep forgetting Shaw is from Alabama, and then he reminds me by refering to America as the 'Good ol U S of A." XD
