  • LiKe,,..That P51 was holding back, those jets were trying to keep up.

  • i was looking at the tree birds

  • the p51 is only keeping up because the jets slowed down

  • there having a race

  • ya i guess lol

  • F16 Falcon,.P51D Mustang,.McDonnall-Douglas F4J Phantom. Great planes. All are record setters in their own respective eras.

  • i cant believe da da old as plane can keep up with the jets

  • I cant believe you can hear the prop over the jets

  • Yeah,.the jets were at near minimum throttle and the P51 had the supercharger screaming. (thats what that whine was as they passed over the cam.)

  • yea, the jets are more efficient, therefore the propellers producer more friction in the air, creating more sound.

  • Its the jets that were slowing their pace to stay with the P51D. If either jet had cracked the afterburner/s they would have left the Mustang far behind.

  • that prop plane is capable of around 500mph

  • P51 Mustang cool..

  • When they are heading away from the camera, from left to right they are: F-16...P-51...F-4.

  • The jug-head prop pilot in the middle accidently flew over a no-fly zone over a nuclear power plant 2 months after 9/11! The F-15's where from Otis AFB that where scrambled to intercept him and escort him back to Hartford where he was extremely interogated by CSP and FBI. I saw this too fly right over me in Hartford 50 miles north from this video. Notice nobody is in the water as it is too cold despite the crazy chicks in shorts at 0:35!

  • If you are confused, the prop is clearly towing the other two airplanes.

  • Is that some sort of joke i didn't get.

  • Hm, I thought it was Japanese Zero xD

  • RufiqPL - Yeah I saw that movie too with Kirk Douglas... Awesome Aircraft Carrier movie!

  • that was me i was pilotting all 3

  • eedee2speedy: Don't be silly. You can't have piloted all three because you were on youtube and those planes don't have internet access!

  • "its a ufo! it had made it look like it was 3 planes" lolz thats what people would say :)

  • lol!

  • a jet fighter, a fighter bomber, and a gas- stroke engine

  • hmm I was confused on the prop because from a distance it almost looked like a P-38

  • I can't tell if 1884moss is serious or not. It's a flyover at an airshow, not two aircraft escorting one low on fuel. How does getting in formation with two aircraft help a fuel problem?

Anyway the aircraft in the center is a North American P-51 Mustang. The large jet is a Mcdonnel Douglas F-4 Phantom, and the smaller jet is a Lockheed Martin F-16 Fighting Falcon also known as the Viper.

  • i could tell the 2 jets were the F4 and F16 and i was wondering whether or not it was a mustang, thanks for confirming

  • flyboy4692 - At 1:16 the newspaper article said it was two USAF F-15's (i.e. Strike Eagles) and a yes maybe it was a P-51 in the middle. They initially incorrectly said they where two F-16's. What US air base still uses Phantom's for scramble intercept? They are Vietnam War vintage and were decomm'd in 1991.

    Hartford Courant. Hartford, Conn.: Nov 2, 2001. p. A.9

The details are still classified as they let the guy go but won't tell his name or the aircraft type involved.

  • I meant 0:16 sorry...

  • So wait...Are you saying its not an F-4 and that it is an F-15? If you pause the video at 0:21 you can clearly see the distinct outline of the F-4 and its twin engines. As far as I can tell it is flanked by an F-16 and a (debatable) P-51.

As far as active F-4s go a number are still in use for training. They're used to simulate enemy aircraft in training missions like Operation Red Flag etc. Also theres at least 1 privately owned F-4. I'm not sure if it was around when this video took place.

  • I just saw your last post...And judging by the number of people on the beach it looks like a planned airshow to me. You can clearly tell the two jets are different and therefore can't both be F-15s. In fact neither are F-15s.

  • @flyboy4692 General Dynamics F-16

  • @TAV3DRAGONFLY Well General Dynamics is the current manufacturer, the aircraft was originally developed by Lockheed Martin. Both companies are valid prefixes.

  • God bless America!!

  • WW2 plane,Vietnam jet,21st century jet

    atleast thats what i think

  • yes lol.... fuel is a possibility and also.. those planes r obviously human lol...

  • Looks like the plane was going as fast as it could and the jets were going as slow as they could...

  • There, escorting it to the base it was proball low on fuel

  • wow three amazing

  • hehe, I never noticed the last shot landed on a gaggle of cuties. I gotta start watching these from start to finish!

  • 9th, an otherwise pleasant day at the beach was spoiled today by the presence of military ships and aircraft. An F-4, F-16 and a P-51 in tight formation swooped in a low pass over the beach firing on several civilians killing Jebediah Slade, John Neumann and one child. An investigation revealed the incident was the result of bad apples in the airforce getting bored and taking out their frustration on US citizens. No charges will be laid.

  • F-18, not F-16. Look at the wings, 00:21, a clear shot.

  • Confonit!!!! I stand corrected. Now Here's what'll make you a real expert: is it reeeeeeeeeally a P-51?

  • titan T-51 maybe ? I dont know. Its hard to say. Too small. What do you think? Let me know.

  • I just know it's not a corsair... It might be an F-4U mschdmt? T-51 sounds good . you should check out the article on the old beached P-38.
