Over produced species/ hybrids, etc. are usually the results of money chasers, and self proclaimed "animal lovers". However, a breeder who dedicates his or her time to reproduce any of the various endangered parrot species due to threatened status, is doing a very good deed. I love the sanctuary idea, but advising the public to stop breeding and criticizing breeders gives bad advice which can have drastic effects on our parrot populations. This can lead to extinction by aviculturists as well.

@californiaflocks This sounds like an excuse to breed more parrots, especially when young parrots are bonded to humans by hand feeding. Parrots should be allowed to learn how to be a bird from their parents.

illegal trade should be strictly banned and also put an eye on local ppl to stop capturing these birds.
