I like how he made that reference to The Bill Cosby Show. It's clear from the end that what the viewer sees is a blurred line between reality and delusion, as this is what Patrick likely experiences. He seems lucid and cynical throughout, and mocks those around him somewhat inconspicuously. He seems to realize things others don't, yet he doesn't even realize his own enveloping psychosis until he "confesses". I happen to think irony is a beautiful thing :P

Oh but there's another theory behind it;

The scene where the real estate agent tells him to leave may not have been an eye opener about his own state of mind, but of the reality of society. It's likely that the world Patrick lives in is a modern day 'dystopia' where everybody is aware of the crime and corruption around them but are indifferent toward it like Patrick. So the real estate agent may have removed the bodies herself to avoid the hassle of an investigation.

Nothing can destroy this movie. It's an undisputed masterpiece. American Psycho 2 is a laugh riot and has nothing to do with the original, besides the name. The people who made it should be stabbed to death, after which I would play around in their blood. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go return some videotapes.
