  • Yep, she's quite a gal - and sooo much quieter than I expected.

  • Ahhhh De Havilland. :-) The unmistakable shape of the tail and the sweet sound of two gipsies. SO nice to see a plane with WINDOWS, not portholes theese days. This is how flying should be.

  • Pleased you like - she's certainly a fine old lady.

  • I don't know why I should feel nostalgic about an airplane that was built before I was born but I do. Excellent editing by the way.

  • Good video. I uploaded some footage a couple of days ago of G-AKIF which was at Headcorn last Sunday.

  • I flew in her last month with my wife and young daughter. We loved every minute of the flight around Duxford. This was my second Rapide flight, the previous one was in G-AKIF (September) another Rapide belonging to Classic Wings. I would certainly consider the flight over London next time.

  • Me too - I flew over London in an AD500 airship 20 odd years ago, and that was fascinating. Mind you, the slow porpoising movement during the flight turned me slightly pale after 40 minutes or so!

  • Nice video of a fine aeroplane. I would like to take the flight as well at some point.

  • Certainly worth taking the trip, especially the safety briefing which shows you the circular escape hole in the roof...

  • Yes, the whole thing was shot the same day. The aircraft is a real pleasure to fly in and surprisingly quiet.

  • Very nice video, the shots from the air and from the sky, were that the same flight?
