I also bought a Mono box set along with the Stereo box set, the stereo set came from the US and the Mono from Japan. Knowing the Japanese dedication (especially in quality) they do pay attention to the littlest of details. I'm glad mine was proudly made there.

Hey guys! If you're going to buy the box sets, don't buy them off amazon or ebay. Go to beatles.com and click on store and they have both the stereo and mono box sets for sale there. It's definitely real because it's the OFFICIAL beatles website.
You've got to be kidding me. Now I have to worry about the remasters being fake?! Who does this? Is it coming out of China? Because they have the pressing plants and ability to do this right?
Could these eventually slip into the retail streams like Amazon etc. Damn it. Damn you all to hell!
@wendileona Hi there! yeah the box set came from China. when I bought it on eBay the seller said that it was going to be posted from Sydney, Australia.. and it arrived from China. I have heard that Amazon got a bunch of Fakes.

Considering the mono mixes vs stereo. First the original uk mono albums or japanse reprints still have the best sound. No cd can ever touch that sound. The japanses are expensive. And to find near mint original beatles uk pressings in mono well not the easiest job in the world. In my opinion most mono cd's sounded flat. I bought my copy two days after the release date in Germany. paid full price. That sound was disappointing. Stick to vinyl. Or try to get the boot at 10 USD. Go Asia
Great video. Is the sound quality the same regarding the fake & real? If the answer is they both sound the same what did you pay for both? I suppose if the fake is selling for £50 or under (its not such a bad deal!! Yes I know its wrong to buy illegal cds) . This box set I have seen for as much as £230! I got mine for £125(at a video game shop!) & thanks to you I know it's real.
@kingofpunk1977 with the fake, I put the discs in my computer and they were all the STEREO remasters.. it wasn't even the mono ones.. the quality of the fakes were pretty poor.
I got the fake for $96 and the real one for $350 .
@WilburyVision Yeah, the fakes usually are pretty cheap to buy.. i was on ebay the other day and saw an ad for another mono boxset and it's starting bid was 99 cents! that has "FAKE" written all over it..

@ventriloquistguy Both Stereo and mono are really good.. but I like the mono remasters better.. the songs sound so much more clearer! they added a phasing effect to Your Mother Should Know tho.. sounds strange, but in a good way :)
@LadyBeatle really? well i guess that mono is better cause it's the original beatles sound they intended for fans to hear, not all this remastered stuff. but don't get me wrong, remasters are still amazing. it's still the beatles.
was looking at counterfeits on ebay and saw a pic of all the albums on a table, except that magical mystery tour was flipped so you could only see the back.
Thank you very much for posting this video. I just got the monobox at a very reduced price (locally, not from ebay) and I was lucky enough to score the original according to your video. On the other token, I got busted with the Pink Floyd Oh By The Way box bought from ebay, it was such a horrible fake, the CDs and covers are just pitiful.
Thanks for putting this up. Hopefully others will check this out before making the same mistake I and others have. I got a fake one through ebay. The seller said he would refund all my money plus return ship. He stiffed me - ebay did pay me back though as I purchased through Paypal and them.
The white album is commonly referred to as that by nearly every Beatle fan I know. Get over it Grahamm2709. There's better stuff to argue about.
I feel sorry for you. That really does blow. You should file a buyers protection case against the dealer. You should receive a full refund. I received counterfeit Anthology CD set last month and got my money back in full. Even if the dealer is a flake you are still protected. Have you done that?
@dormanbenton Ouch...I paused the video to comment previously... WOW! That is the most counterfeit looking set I have witnessed to date. They are usually way more convincing. LOL. I SO hope you didn't get stuck paying a dime for that. I get mad looking at it.
@dormanbenton When i put the discs in my computer they came up as "Stereo remasters" it's so fake they didn't even include the right discs lol! I did lose a bit of money.. but i have reported the seller and the supplier to Apple Corps and i hope they get soooo fined and punished for that :P

The covers were reversed - i didnt even click until I tried playing mono masters and noticed the Yellow Submarine tracks were missing and the past masters v2 tracks were still there. After that tested Help and Rubber Soul for the second mix - 14 tracks each only. Emailed seller to see if he knows, and if i can get my money back . He has completely positive feedback so dont know if he knows.

@darqen666 when I played mine on my computer it was coming up saying that it was the Stereo remasters.. and not mono.. it's so fake! the biggest giveaway is the seriously strong smell of ink :(
the seller i got mine off had 100% positive feedback as well.. till he sold a bunch of these fakes and he got removed from eBay..
@dormanbenton I got all my money back from PayPal although i lost a lot of money because i had to send it back to the rip off via Registered post.. so i was down $20 because I complained to paypal that it was going to cost me $40 for postage and they told me they would pay half.. I knew if was a fake as soon as i took it out of the postage bag.. the strong smell of Ink and glue was a dead give away :P
@LadyBeatle In reference to both comments...As a Beatles collector that literally makes me nauseous. I was wondering why the prices went down so drastically for these sets when I payed $230 for both when new forcing Apple to knock the price down. Thanks China! We're living in a global market now. Yeah you do kind of get screwed on shipping with Ebay unless the seller is nice enough to send you a full refund on it. I've now just noticed there are more and more of these China videos popping up.

CHINESE fakes are FLOODING the world. Even Authentic Japanese release are FAKED by Chinese.
One critical sign to look for. :-)
Authentic First Pressing discs have 'IFPI L153' or 'IFPI L154' stamped in the hub area while the Second Pressing has 'IFPI L278' or 'IFPI L277'.

There are loads of these box sets going on gumtree in the UK for about £55. I got suspicious when the price was so low.
