@MrCainandabel, I am 28 and have loved classic rock my whole life. It's only been in the last year or so that I have really discovered Poco, and LOVED them. Even though I wasn't alive when the music came out, I do feel much simpler and more peaceful, and well, happier whenever I hear them. Keep enjoying!
@XFiles1993 That is great that you found them! Timothy B. Schmidt is the bass player in this video(the guy with the long hair) he was Poco's "2nd" bass player. Their first was Randy Miesner who lleft and went to the Eagles and then Tim took his place in Poco. Then when Randy left the Eagles, Tim took his place there too! Either way, great music!
@gol7on4 Richie Furray and Jim Messina came from Buffalo to form Poco in 1968 I believe and started in Denver, Co. Great mucians that have made it a lifetime and are still going! YES!
This was great music for the hiway. I always remember the sunset in Wyoming many years ago listening to the "Legend" album. Those were awesome times and happy days.
Paul Cotton, Rusty Young and Timmy Schmit were my heroes in the 70s and 80s...............I loved their music and I still do. I'm nearly 60 years old yet I'm a stupid, foolish, youngster when I hear their music again. Take me back boys, take me back down the years!
Paul Cotton and Rusty Young got their first Gold record Crazy Love when all the original members were emigrated to different bands at that time,,,one of them Tim Schmit
Been in love with the music of Poco since high school! Think they are still FANTASTIC!! i CAN PUT ON THERE MUSIC AND ALMOST IMMEDIATELY MY MOOD GETS BETTER! They had a tape out years ago called BLUE and GREY! Have looked but can't find it?
Paul, If you ever read this, I just want to thank you for all the classic guitar rifts over the years. Every one is very creative and memorable. I love learning them myself. I just want you to know how much other guitarists appreciate you.
I LOVE Poco and the Eagles, and Fleetwood Mac...people think its odd cos I'm a Pacific Island/Maori, not quite 30 - I guess they expect me to be into pop/hip hop etc, which I am but this stuff is awesome... :)
JUST LISTEN TO THAT!! How could ANY band be better than that? I LOVE these guys! I have played guitar since the early 70's and Poco was then and is now my top favorite band! They make me feel good. Just listening to their music brings me up!! The Eagles could never be as good as Poco I just can't understand why Poco was not on the top. They were what defines every other band in that genre of music. No one ,No band could ever best Poco! They are THE best band !
So what if the Establishment did not recognize it. In the days when this was written being discovered and blasted over the airwave was a sign of selling out. So they just kept creating wonnderful music and trust me they had plenty of fans in and out of the music industry. I just love to hear them again. That's reward enough for me.
There album "From the Inside" was huge in the 70's. At least where I grew up in NE Jersey. Love these guys. Way ahead of there time like most monsters back in that day.
why are people so obsessed with popular success? would it enhance your appreciation for the music if they had been big million sellers? sometimes huge commercial success does not have a positive effect on creativity or inspiration. the music of Poco is still there to enjoy. have a good time, listen, and forget about what "should have been".
Why Poco never went mainstream I;ll never understand. IMO they are the best band of all time in this genre, with the possible exception of CCR if you want to put those two bands in the same category, which they aren't.
Great music but people need to look deeper into this kind of music.. the early stages of this music were created by Ricky Nelson.. many of the original Poco, Eagles and other bands got their start with Ricky in his Stone Canyon Band. This was real music and was so under-rated during its days.. but one thing about good music. it lives on forever and music of Ricky, Poco, Eagles and other bands similar will live forever.
God bless you and THANK YOU for pointing this out! I have argued this for YEARS with those who think they know all the history...but facts can't be denied...Stone Canyon Band existed before Poco or the Eagles. Yey, it seems NO ONE will speak of SCB, as if it would cause their head to explode or something.
must be a Madison Avenue reason these guys aren't heralded as much as the Eagles, this is truly beautiful, I just discovered this band, and I am in love!
The band used to stay at the New York Sheridan many moons ago. Me and my girl would take their clothes up to the room from the valet laundry and that's how we got to meet the band. Three or four times and each time they were are friendly and down to earth as possible. Got to see them over a dozen in as many years and always paid for a great show. It's a Good Feelin' To Know. Definitely native sons-not from NY.
Dreamy, peaceful song to relax to and be carefree for awhile.Poco had neat songs and harmonies. Remember them from the 70's.Alot of good songs from the 70's and 80's.
Just saw Timothy B. Schmit 12-7-09 at Portland's Aladdin Theater. Voice hasn't aged one bit, and he had a backing band every bit as musically talented as The Eagles. I would have been thrilled to see a solo acoustic show for my $21. ticket but he treated us to the full album sound of the new songs from "Expando" plus his classic stuff from Poco and The Eagles. "I Can't Tell You Why" was note for note as perfect as the original on "The Long Run." What a night!
I used to love Poco...Indian Summer was my favorite album back then. Great fibe throughout the album and it just made me feel great!!! Actually, I think they sounded as good or better than the Eagles, but hey, the Eagles rocked then too! Lot of guys came and went with Poco, to other bands.
This takes me back.....Wow! Indian Summer is by far the best Poco album in my opinion. It is the one with the most good songs. Other albums har one song that maybe outshines this albums', but in tital itøs the best.
It's a bit funny. In those days I favoured Poco over Eagles and other Contry Rock bands. Looking back today I feel The Eagles had better songs. But I still love the feel of this particular album and consider it to be one of the top three country rock albums og all time. Pure joy!
I was in the late 60's/early 70's a huge Poco fan. I still am. But, to echo your sentiments, I stopped taking dates to Poco concerts back in the day, because inevitably, they would all fall in love with TBS! Man, I thought I was turning them on to good music, and all they wanted was him. Geesh! Bummer for me.
I'm a Poconut from way back but I have to say I've never heard this song before. It must be one of the first songs after Richie split because Timothy is still with the band. Great song! Thank's for posting it.
the album was named "Indian Summer"...tryin to remember when Richie split....I think it was after "Crazy Eyes" and this album was the followup to Poco "7"...which was a GREAT album...
Poco was so underated. The Eagles owe much of their success to the path that Poco had made. Even with all the personnel changes--they were always great.
One of my all time favorite bands. Rusty inspired me to buy a steel guitar, Tim inspired me to sing harmony, Paul inspired my guitar playing. Great band, great tune!
@gittahfiend I hear you, I was in the business for 10 years and never could figure how fame could strike one band yet much lesser fame hit another one. They are every bit as good as the Eagles and in some instances better.

hola! marisha4sure thanks for publish this memorable tune from the very best country rock band by far...this song counts with mr. donald fagen playing arp odyssey and other synth devices to great effect...dreamy tune, dreamy memories...;-)
If you haven't seen Poco perform recently, you should go see them. They travel the US all year. I've seen them in Ft. Lauderdale, Denver and Boulder in the last two years. Paul Cotton is as good or better than he was in the 70's.
Best place to see them? The "Living Room Concert Series" at Wildwood Springs Resort south of Cuba, Missouri. They fit about 200 people in the lobby and set the "stage" up at the fireplace. The bands there eat dinner with fans, mingle with them and the show is very intimate and personal.
Awesome song!! I never heard of Poco until a couple weeks ago when I was listening to The Eagles, have been listening to this song ever since, even went and ordered one of their CD's from the States to have a listen too. Go Poco!!
Amazingly enough the hacks at the rock N. Roll Hall of Fame STILL haven't picked POCO to be in the hall! Add to that The Doobie Brothers and Three Dog Night and is it REALLY the rock n' roll hall of fame?

Great song from the most underrated rock band
in history. Great personnel came thru this band and inspired many others esp. The Eagles
funny how the music biz goes. They did have a GOLD album in 1978 called Legend. Check it out!!

Glenn Frey and Don Henley actually were inspired by Poco. They dug their sound very much. So the Eagles were modeled after Poco in a way.
