  • Brilliant lesson, really easy to follow keep 'em coming :)

  • Thank you for taking the time to explain this song. I've fancied playing it for a while now and didn't realise it was so easy. Keep on rockin'!

  • Im tickled pink ' pun intended ' to see you use your pinky to barr with.I learned to barr with my pinky back in the 60's because it is more comfortable than the ring finger. Now I dont feel as if I am breaking guitar rules when I see you do it.

  • @synthoify LOL! I'm pleased to hear someone else thought of the same method as me!

    Thanks for the reply. ;)

  • great tutorial dude :) i recently started playing and ive wanted to learn this song for awhile thanks. i hope u make more

  • But in this song is part:

    "I'm gonna sing those songs

    That offend the censors

Gonna pop my pills from a pez dispenser

I'll get washed-up singers writing all my songs

lip sync 'em every night so I don't get 'em wrong"

    How to play that?

  • well thank you very much ur a great teacher xD i hope that u will do more lessons bye

  • @laroutcha00 Thank you too. ;)

  • very good! but your voice is a bit out of tune. :)

  • @DanielJosephGil It's a great example of trying to sing a song that is not of your key! Take a listen to my Elvis covers to see how I sound to an appropriate key scale! Let me know what 'ya think. Thank you for your comment. I hope you derive some usefulness for the Rockstar lesson despite the crap singing! ;)

  • great stuff mate, how long have you been playing?

  • @TheJamezD To be honest I have never really been a great player. I've tinkered with the Guitar for 10 years but only to work out theory. I only ever wanted to know 'How ans Why' the guitar was played. Once I learned I decided to share the info on here. I know that sounds odd but, it explains why I don't create great expressive performances. I'm still very pleased that my lessons seem to have helped people though.

    Cheers. Tony ;)

  • Hi, this one really confused me because I originally semi learned a different version...now Im trying to work out which one is right. Your summer of 69 lesson was awesome, keep em coming!

  • @TheAbm1982 Thank you for your comment. I suppose which ever way is the easy one and produces a good sound will be ok. It's always good to be able to have a few ways of playing the same track too! Thanks for your kind words about Summer Of '69 . Good luck. Tony ;)

  • is that a yamaha ?

  • @96halofan Yes.

  • 0:46 what the fuck is wrong with your pinky?

  • @TheCurseOfMetal LOL! Yeah, it does look weird! That's the way I'm able to bend it. Check my next finger out, it's got a permanent bend after I fell from a hight and broke it.

    Thanks for comment. ;)

  • you teach so well but you sound tone deaf when you sing. lol

  • @blooddudemagic Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, my singing is awful but, I couldn't use the actual track and for reasons of pausing and slowing down etc. We all sing at different pitches and this wasn't one for me! Take a listen to my Elvis covers and let me know what you think and whether the key scale was better.

    Thanks. Tony ;)

  • @blooddudemagic he sings to make you realize where he is in the song if you see what i mean ,well i guess

  • A great lesson. Already getting it down to pat. What do you reckon to playing the middle-eight by playing the B-flat and C barre chords on the sixth and eigth frets. I find that a little easier.

  • @muras Thanks for comment. I'm pleased you are progressing with your skills. Yeah, to experiment with different chord positions and embellishments is always a sign of a good creative Musician.

    Thanks. Tony

  • omg i've just got my fist gig using this song! tnx topdog

Because honestly since i stopped having lessons i forgot half my theory,

I still practice nearly what about every few days just to keep my mind fresh... Although I thought my new school would do lessons but they don't have a teacher I'm so sorry if I never seemed enthusiastic but I was it was sinking in my mind like a sponge If you could reply back to me that would make my day...
