uhmmm dude. you could have hammered that thing hard if you had full power to weapons instead of engines. you did good, but seriously. You could have done it in half the time. And yes the game play has improved dramatically since release.
@Scotrishes how has it improved? I bought this game and thought it was fun for about a month, then realized EVERY mission is practically teh same shit. Not to mention the klingons are SO overpowered compared to the feds. Probably the designers way of getting people to play klingons because the feds side was so overpopulated.
@808Arsenal klingons overpowered u kidding me? in the game in pvp they said feds are overpowered just cause i could tank their whole team (i was in a star cruiser with all tanking capabilities i could have, but still..)
but i'll say the game is too easy, i got to rear admiral upper half 3 in about 2 weeks... and then i got bored cause everything was the same.

@locutus9956 uhm... i done. i downloaded the deluxe digital from steam. i'm curently a Lt. Cmd. 5, and i'm loving the game. four maximum-powered MK3 phasers at the same time just crush through any shields! i love this combo! i use it very often! and with weapons battery, it deals even more damage!
@LauxRO good man, welcome to the trekky goodness :D Be warned with phasers though that forward and aftt beam arrays haev a shared cooldown I believe so you can only fire one forward and one aftt at a time (having 2 on each works fine as they can fire while the other one is recharging but be wary once you get a bigger ship of trying to put 4 or 5 on as youll find some them will just never fire :)
@locutus9956 not indeed. i fire all 4 at the same time. i annihilate a Negh'var klingon warship with all power to weapons in approximately 25secs. that with four Mk3 Phaser Beam [Dmg], which are the best i got available.
@LauxRO well then they must have changed that some time back, tbh I primarily fly escorts so dont often use more than 1 beam in any given arc anyway as it takes up valuable torpedo and cannon room ;) Only thing I'll warn is make sure you boost your power plenty if your firing lots of energy weps at once or you'll suffer diminishing returns (very good thread about it in the STO forums, search for 'guide- weapon power' (cant link it cos of youtubes limitations on such things)
@locutus9956 i know that. with simultaneous fire, my main power goes down to 85%, but that still deals some good damage, always around 400/sec per beam. so, i deal 1600/sec, which is the almost the same effect as a quantum torp. but i gain the way it slices shields very faster. ;)
there arent any tricobalt beams but there are tricobalt devices im only a commander7 so i havent been able to try it but i imagine it works good..also feed a ric or a mat tribble deferi snow tubers and you get a special cryo tribble
@dapenguin2 thanks for the tip. i'm a cmd6 right now, so i haven't tried it neither. captain sounds good for me, since all vessel owners are captains...
@Mozzywoods Imo it's improved ALOT. Played the beta and a month or so from release and then I got fed up of it being buggy and lacking content and stopped playing. I rejoined a week ago and well, the bugs are pretty much GONE and whilst theres not a CRAZY amount of new content theres loads of little improvements that really make it feel like a game I can enjoy now and that looks to be steadily turning into the game I always wanted it to be :D

Basically on relase I'd have called STO a 6 or maybe a 7/10 (helped alot by the fact it was Trek, otherwise maybe only a 5 frankly...
Now its easily a high 7 or an 8. Maybe even a 9 for me due to sheer 'Star Trek' factor ;)

there arent any tricobalt beams but there are tricobalt devices im only a commander7 so i havent been able to try it but i imagine it works good..also feed a ric or a mat tribble deferi snow tubers and you get a special cryo tribble

@Mozzywoods Imo it's improved ALOT. Played the beta and a month or so from release and then I got fed up of it being buggy and lacking content and stopped playing. I rejoined a week ago and well, the bugs are pretty much GONE and whilst theres not a CRAZY amount of new content theres loads of little improvements that really make it feel like a game I can enjoy now and that looks to be steadily turning into the game I always wanted it to be :D
