Sid is one of the most underrated superstars ever. He was a main eventer and big draw wherever he went.

WWE could do with Sid because they have no genuinely intimidating heels since Batista left. Sheamus is just an X-Pac heat-drawing loser who people boo cause they don't want him around, not because they buy him as a heel. They've turned Triple H, Orton and Big Show face. CM Punk, Jericho and Miz aren't menacing enough to strike fear. Edge is about the only guy they have who is of the physical stature and presence to intimidate, and even he's not that scary.
