  • My auntie used to touch type at 100 per minute, no spelling mistakes and also she knew pitmans shorthand. A real secretary.

  • This is so funny - it's the timing being so perfect, a killer, the body remembers.... Ha. I was amazed some people i fwd'd it to didn't get it, lol, i guess you never know, one said she never typed, okay - but i knew someone whose typewriter you actually had to hold on to when you pushed the carriage return or it would slide right off the table. Heee...

  • So Lols!

  • lol maybe she's a bit oldfashioned...she uses computer as a typewriter

  • I get this this and IM A FETUS> ha! I WIN

  • I'm 24 and I typed on a typewriter that is still downstairs at my parent's house =)

  • i get it

  • This is easy to get

  • funny

  • Its nana!!!!!

  • BAHAHAH!

  • Wow, I just came across this again and I can't believe I'm the number 1 comment, hahaha 18 now and course I still get it ;)

  • I am 237 years old i don't get it please inform me.

  • @guidoskater360 so am i haha

  • Im 100 and I don't get it.

  • I'm 19, use a typewrite on a daily basis, but only since about maybe four months. I somehow find it more convenient than typing something on a computer and printing it out. I suppose it's also cheaper. All you have to really buy for it is ink ribbon, and that's it. No electricity at all. Keep it cleaned and it should last a couple decades. Heck, you can even use it in a power outtage. Just don't place any candles near the paper though, otherwise the paper can catch fire (this has happened to me)

  • im TWELVE and i get it... lol its so funny

  • she is so used to a manual type writer

  • I've been watching "Murder She Wrote," so this is perfect! [ding!]

  • Wheres the ding?

  • I get it and I'm not even born yet!! Honest!

  • it doesnt matter the fact that som1 wld nock over it is funny

  • love it!

  • I am 53 years old and have been teaching the subject for years. I have seen women of my age lifting their left hand to return the carriage - which is no longer there! " where's the thing you push to go on to a new line teacher"!!! I love them for it because only for me being lucky enough to continue working I would also be looking for that carriage that would quickly take me to where I want to go - a new line!

  • LOL Nach 30 Jahren zurück im Job. Da missversteht man schonmal was. :-)

  • BAHAHAHAHA! That was Hillarious!

    THANKS!

  • Oh now i get it, she's like "old school" woman who got used to typewriters. She quit her day job and then after long time she returns back after evolution of technology took place when typewriters were replaced by computers.

  • I'm 46 and I don't get this shit.

  • @lujia the old typewriters used to have a manual carriage return...a big leaver which you had to push to start typing onto another line, nowadays with pc's you press the "return" key if you want to start a new line...but most programs automatically line-feed and send your text onto the new line! The joke here was a worker comes back after 30 years (obviously last time she typed was using the manual carriage return) so she pushes the monitor - thinking its the carriage return lol!!

  • I think some of the commenters have less brain cells than the character portrayed.

Now, for an imaginary chocolate button, can anyone tell me where this is from. I thought it was a sketch show.

  • Ah, seems to be from a German show.

  • OLOLOLOL

  • Why are you guys arguing over whom is the youngest here? It really doesn't make a difference if your nine years old or 90 years old, it still hilarious.

  • BTW:..... She smashed the screen to the wrong side!!!!

  • @Deanna405 No she didn't It was right.

  • im -4 and i got it

  • i get it i'm 9

  • Is it because Macs suck?

  • @guidoskater360

NO I'M THE YOUNGEST PERSON WHO GETS IT.

Try 'getting' punctuation at some point soon, you might find it useful.

  • Oh typewriters, you're so silly.

  • suuuuper

  • Why does the box that she pushed of the table make a laughing sound?

  • LMAAAAAAAAAAAO

  • LOL

  • same 13

  • Ohhhhh I get it, shes getting it mixed up with a Typewriter lawl :D

  • So what is the joke then?

  • @xaxie1

    I don't get the joke either. I'm 50.

What's that big white box that she pushes off the table?

  • @dansmithwave its the computer screen, stupid.

  • @670chris076 - Yeah, thanks for explaining that.

  • @ BradamantKnight- Wow, pretentious much? You aren't in a position to say what anyone would or wouldn't find "hysterically funny". I'm thinking you're one of those older people that younger ones have no time or respect for. And your comment shows why.

I for one am 30 and found this vid hysterically funny!

  • im only 9 and i totally understand (she thinks is a typewriter)

  • lol

  • I'm only 20 and I understood this completely. It's as funny to me as it was to my mother, I learned to type on a typewriter. Age matters not.

  • @supertrinko are you from a third world country ? I'm 33 and yeah I used a type writer but they didn't have them in schools or offices or universites or shops when I was small , (apart from banding machine use at school but even that when by the time I was in sixth form)

  • @stu0things0and0stuff Nope, I just used to play with a typewriter as a kid, and through playing with it, actually learned to type with it. We also had a computer, I just was never interested in it until I was about 7.

  • @supertrinko lol :-) , ok then supose thata'l have to do as an excuse ;-)

  • ppl, can say it is funny for the older ppl.

well I am 20 and I learned how to type on a typewriter aswell

doesn't matter if you are old or young, this vid is AWESOME!!~

  • @guidoskater360 same

  • Sure, younger people can understand this. But, I have to say, it is not as hysterically funny to them (us) as it is to those people who lived it and still have the muscle memory of the manual carriage return. My mom saw this and CRACKED UP. Scared the dog, she did.

  • It really doesn't matter how old you are to understand this, its just your common knowledge of the past. I'm 16 and I understood the idea completely.

  • @BGH17AT so true, I am 22 and I used to have my own typewriter when I was a little girl :)

  • @BGH17AT Agreed

  • @BGH17AT im 14 i did too but to be fair if dont get that your a fool

  • ha ha

  • lol, what just happened?

  • @ wandaloskot you are right but, don't focus so much on that....The gist of the video is funny though :)

  • im pretty sure thats not blonde hair

  • alok

  • If you learned to type in the early 70's and before, you would understand the typewriter return reference!

  • lol

  • i still do this....lol crash!

  • Comment removed

  • Too funny

  • hahaha - this is NOT how the carriage worked, it was the opposite direction!

  • um.. no, the video has it right. Think about it. The carriage has to move to the left in order for the words to move to the right, so you push it from left to right.

  • @wandaloskot

eh beg to differ IT IS THE DIRECTION THE CARRIAGE GOES -IT COMES BACK THE OPPOSITE WAY! and wheres your sense of fun - r u out of a job???

  • terrific, I know just where this coming from.

  • hahahahaha....lol....funny!
