  • Great video keep up the good work.

  • This whole album is so hauntingly sad. It stays with you for a long time and through so many things. I guess I have the blues.

  • "In his loneliness and out of his longing, an idea occurred to Andrew. If he could fix his mother's radio, perhaps he could bring her back to life."

Makes me wish it was an actual novella, cause that concept description would make a damn good introduction :(

  • i just realized i commented on the same thing and essentially said the same thing, haha true story, check it out!

  • no one's better than you Kev... keep up the great work ;)!

  • They are great without him.but kevin makes such a great music.you cant deny that!osi is gREat project with mike portnoy and jim matheos

also new album "blood"their best!the drummer in this albim is from porcupine tree

  • yeahhhh anyone actually like this song? i do

  • Cool fucking opinion.

  • @japeto1 is right, DT's still great without him!

but Chroma Key DOES NOT suck haha

  • @japeto1 i dont know dt. i only know chroma key. i am a metalhead but i listen to all sorts of music and dont constrain myself to one genre. you should try that. it might make you less of a prejudice prick. sorry if my english is bad. im from holland.

  • continued...Black clouds is a great album, and james is a good singer no matter what you say! i for one love images and words and Awake, but am very glad they still dont sound the exact same as they did in 1990, but on the other hand it still sounds like DT the new album has everything. The best of times has a lot of old school sound to it, kinda remindes me of dont look past me. And to the person who says they are not metal, well i have to say you're wrong, they have lots of metal roots.......

  • well, i absolutely agree with everything you say about DT here, but chroma key is awesome.

  • im glad kevin left, they were clearly going in different directions. Its kinda sad for me, because ive gone with KM, over dream theater, mostly because i do not like labrie's voice. he is still trying to sound aggressive, but thats just not his voice. Reminds me of my chiwawa getting all pissed of at a bulldog trying to act tough. it looks silly. Please DT you are not metal. stop trying to play it. Let Myung write more lyrics. Im so tired of the fucking motif they have been on the last few outs

  • ... And then there are Dream Theater fans who are not dorks.

  • For the record I LOVE Kevins solo work and his work with DT is some of my favorite in DT's catalog, but I still love Rudess and think he is a better player technically, but Kevin is better emotionally, (not to say that Rudess doesn't have emotion, or that Kevin doesn't have technicality).

  • Kevin Moore's departure took Dream Theater a long time to recover from. His playing was so unique. They had to find a new identity without him.

  • well... DT's haven't recovered of the Kevin Moore's departure... and i don't think they will... there's no other keyboardist like Moore...

  • Um they have FULLY recovered, Jordan Rudess, is a much better player than Moore, sure Moore may be more creative but Rudess is pure genius, without him there would be no Scenes From a Memory, which I believe is their best work, second would be awake (Moore is amazing) but im just saying that have recovered and improved, the only reason they needed to recover was because he left right before a tour, they don't need him, they've moved on.

  • lol man... have u heard Systematic Chaos? that disc sucks... and Black Clouds and Silver Linings sucks even MORE!! its like a 15-year old boy wrote those lyrics... what the hell where they thinking? DT really miss Moore's lyrics now... prolly they moved on... but they still need Moore! and DT best Work is I&W and Awake... SFAM its so good but it doesn't have a song like Surrounded or Space-Dye Vest! Moore all the way... Rudess' just fast playing, no emotion in that...

  • You haven't heard Black Clouds yet so you have no idea if its good, I on the other hand HAVE and its great, the lyrics are bad unless you know the melody! I've read some of mores lyrics for songs i haven't heard and they suck, thats just how it is, Rudess is just as passionate and much more skilled. Rudess is better for DT, he took them to where they wanted to be, Kevin didn't do that. If you don't like todays DT thats fine, but thats where they want to be and you have no right criticizing it.

  • lol... I heard BK&SL... and it's just sucks... only wither is passable... other songs are just boread and lyrically awful... and are u talking about the passion in Rudess playing? there's none... u can't even compare 1 simple solo he have done against TTT solo or LTL solo... even 6:00 kicks Rudess' ass... and yes, they're in that place because of Rudess lack-of-emotion playind and Portnoy's command... DT was MUCH BETTER with Kevin on keyboards... and the things he's doing are way better than DT!

  • Dude, you're an idiot, Wither was the worst song on the fucking album, go listen to The Best Of Times or Count Of Tuscany and tell me thats not passion. You're fucking def. Scenes From A Memory was without a doubt their greatest album and guess who was on that, was it? could it be? RUDESS. Octavarium, another great EMOTION FILLED album that HE was on. I admit that they are faster and heavier but they still have their softer emotional songs and their epics have only gotten better.

  • woot?? The Count Of Tuscany? musically its OK but's not great, lyrically is TOTALLY AWFUL... SFAM their best work? ROFL!!! Awake or even I&W are their best albums ever, and who's on keys? Mr. Kevin Moore... Rudess will never creat a emotional song as Surrounded!! and of course will never write or play something better than "Space-Dye Vest"... Best DT Epic is Learning To Live... Rudess will never be as creative as Moore is...

  • If you don't like them I don't give a fuck, in the end thats just one less person to fight for tickets. Yours is a totally bias opinion, you're a diehard Moore fan who hates Dream Theater because Kevins not there, thats fine, there are still billions of fans out there who prefer rudess. Rudess and Moore are different, both are an aquired taste and I love both, and there's no way for someone to be better than someone else, it's all just opinion and in the end no one gives a fuck about yours.

  • ROFL... i'm not mad at DT 'cause Moore's departure... i just think they actually need him (and i'm glad he's not coming back) i LOVE DT... that's why i'm so upset for that awful disc... come on... they're so great and can do SOMETHING MUCH BETTER than that... and Rudess' gettin' repetitive... every1 loves him just 'cause he can play fast, but they're missin' that he doen's write a shit... Moore has technique, he can play very well and CREATE lyrics... I insist Myung should be able to write again

  • There's no one telling him not to, It's just circumstance that Myung hasn't written any lyrics the last few albums. A lot of people like the new DT, for me, the older the better but thats because of their style not because of kevin. New DT is a lot heavier, they were bound to move at least slightly with the times. However if you listen to the music and the melody behind the lyrics it's still the same Dream Theater. Underneath it's the same music that built them in their early years. DT4evar

  • Mike Portnoy once commented in a chat session that this is probably because Myung's lyrics usually needed some work by the rest of the band to fit to the song. As a result, the band eventually imposed an unwritten lyric rule that required lyrics to be "properly formed, phrased, constructed, etc. to go with the melodies," and, "since then, John has kind of backed off." And man... that's not Dream Theater... they're just Theater... Dream went out with Kevin Moore...

  • Thats total bullshit! I hear the exact same Dream Theater I heard on Images and Words, just have to listen harder. You're dead set to hate anything they do so of course your not gonna like them. But if you actually listen, Black Clouds is a really good album, better than SC imo, just not their best.

  • I like your comment. I always loved DT since 1989 and I always find myself listening to their first 3 albums. I tried and tried to like the new stuff but something is lacking=Kevin Moore!

  • @Dpatriotpizzaman Gonna have to find their identity again without Portnoy now. That sucks hard.

  • @danimal97520 I think they'll either all move on to something else or they'll wait for Mike to return. I don't think Mike will stay away for long.

  • @patriotpizzaman Would LOVE to see Kevin come back to work with the guys for a side project. Kevin could bring Mark Zonder into the mix to ease the loss of Dr. Portnoy's surgical precision. Kevin could do Mike's vocal parts. Twin Keyboard approach has never been tried before. May be a new twist on the old Twin Guitar attack. Throw in John's chops and who knows. Would be a great one off project.

  • @patriotpizzaman I totally agree and I think that's why they are taking so long to even hold tryouts for a new drummer. And I think the idea of someone else playing drums in Dream Theater would drive Mike nuts. I'm hoping that they realize how important Mike is to the band and that he comes back. Wouldn't be DT without him. I'm afraid they'd lose their edge. Petrucci tends to write softer songs and no one else (outside of Mike) has made any large contributions to writing lyrics since Moore left

  • @Dpatriotpizzaman

they never recovered and Rudess has finally killed their integrity. Circus band now.

  • hey... this is from Okul soundtrack!!

not the song that is in GMH

  • you aren't right, this song is on Graveyard Mountain Home too.

  • i know... but GMH have some differences ;)

  • I actually have the DVD for this album, and i have to say it's some of the weirdest stuff i've ever come across in music. I might just post some of it when i get the time to do so

  • amazing!

  • beautiful words from Kevin as usual...

  • indeed great song from brilliant Kevin Moore...

  • Great song by my favorite artist :)
