this is in leeds after a club called the Wendy house and the female in white is emmz {Ms Mephistopheles}
i was not at this one but its safe to say its between half 3 and 12 Sunday afternoon
and as for this Gothic culture stuff well we have never really given a toss what the out side world thinks and most of us above 27 feel that being Gothic or cyber Gothic is part of them the same as lower class people hang on to poor English and violence
The mature goth is not a goth out of rebellion, but it finds the rules of society restricting, and requires more freedom to be them. Also, the "real" goths don't do it as a fashion statement, but the fashion just speaks to like-minded individuals.
All that said, there are waves of newcomers that "become goth" as rebellion or as fashion statement. This is not true gothic and this phenomenon can be observed in almost any subculture.
I would say that Goths today in general aren't necessarily fascinated with death and the morbid, but are more like freethinkers. They are willing to think freely about taboo subjects. They also do not accept moral rules because they are told, but will listen to what you have to say, and will then use that to figure it out for themselves what their moral compass is.
As a non-goth, I do not understand some aspects of a Gothic lifestyle. One of my daughters has recently adopted a Gothic image, yet her personality doesn't reflect what her image seems to make believe. I wish to be supportive, but I would first like to understand:
1. Are Gothics, in general, fascinated about death and the morbid? If so, why?
2. Do Gothics, in general, dislike conformity? Is it a form of rebellion?
ive been a freelancer all my life it frist strated with punk then I slowly evolded i dont do it because i like attention i do it because its apart of me its who i am i love myself and theirfor well i didnt before but hounstly your a very careing father and no i do like death and such but would never hurt another human being.....i hope i dont piss off to many mature goths....im only 17...

Thank you for your help :)

You should read "What Is Goth?" by the popular Goth musician Voltaire. I think that that would help you out a lot.
