not fake, the airplane is flying very slow, just above stall speed, that's the noise you hear at the beginning, it's a stall warning horn... just means the airplane is going very slow with a high angle of attack. the angle helps him stay on the wing. going slow, he only had to fight a 60 mph wind instead of a 145mph wind....
