@foxycorredor don't know, but notice that she's got a snake on her forehead. Just the same snake appearing on the walls of the ruins palace, where there are flying heads and the prince discovers that he was the prince of that city but some strange magician threw it into doom...

well pop 3d is not related with this one, i agree this pop end seems to be continued but its not, and what make this cool is the fact that we never gonna know who ithe witch i the end lol and the part that the prince's mother say to avenge the people, but seems that the prince never avenged that dead people, he just killed jaffar

Your description says you need 12 bottles to turn into the flaming shadow. Both walkthroughs on GameFAQs say you only need 11. I would like to know the correct number because I'm playing this level now for the first time and I only have a mere 7 bottles so the spider part is FRUSTRATING me. I managed to get 10 already but I always die in unfair ways like unresponsive controls. so if it's 12 I know I don't have to try turning into the shadow after I have 11 because then it'll be in vein :D

The mark on the witch's head is the same as on the ruined palace where Prince finds out his heritage. So I took it to mean she was the one who had killed his family years ago and destroyed the city. The unofficial strategy guide says she is the Old Witch who was Jaffar's mentor. I guess #3 was going to explore this but they never did :(

no the witch is not jaffars mother but she is the one who ressurected him. She is the mother of the villian of the third part which is called "Prince of Persia 3D" who actually should be the husband of the princess (before our prince saved her from jaffar)

The witch has on the forehead the same mark you see sometimes on the walls of the ruins, so I assume she's the mistress of the flying heads. Prince's mother asked him to avenge them, and he didn't do it yet - he just killed Jaffar who had nothing to do with that.

It would be nice if Ubisoft went back and made a sequel to this, to tie up some loose ends, and make use of the powers he obtained here, and never used again.

I'm not sure but the next Prince of persia they made was Prince of Persia 3D which was not until a few years after 1993.

however an interesting note is that the witch bears the EXACT same 'serpent' symbol as the symbol that is prevalent throughout the serpent ruins... interesting huh?

@ReytheMovies The witch caused the death of Prince's parents aka the ruin levels. she is the eagle headed priests (the dark forces) and the temple levels.

Aside from this, the witch brought back the Vizier Jaffar back to life and has been keeping an eye on prince thus was intro of Prince of Persia 2: The Shadow and the Flame.

Lastly the plot in POP 3D is due to witch as well.
