Ok look. For everybody that wants aya in this film. She isn't in it. In fact in the game they even recap or mention a few of the thing's that happen in this film. But the game is a sequel to the novel. This movie is merely an adaption of the novel. Not the game.

just got the book.... now seeing the movie... just downloaded Parasite Eve 1 from PSN.... dude it has taken me almost 15 years (almost not a literal 15 for you picky bitches out there *cough* ultra505 *cough*) but I am finally getting to enjoy the Parasite Eve phenomenon I missed as a kid due to being poor (always wanted the game but never had the money) AWESOME way to get introduced now that THe 3rd Birthday is out for PSP!!!

@Eddy3443 5 months later* Actually the Game is base off the a second series of the manga. the first series detailed the book. The second series titled "Parasite Eve Diva ― N. Y. Shi no utahime." what ever the means "quote ...The manga serves as an adaptation for the video game with some altered events. unquote." Though the game is the sequel of the book, some will say. Proven by Konihiko Maeda story about an incedent that happend in japan, which my guess would be this movie and the novel.

Its best if you read the novel as different events were actually taken out in the film that was talked about in the games, this is mainly to do with the Ultimate Being who is present in the novel but not the film and this is very heavily important to the plot of the games. Also to add Mariko (the girl who gets the kidney) is Aya Brea's mother, thus explaining Maya's and Aya's mitochindria. The book is well worth the read, trust me.

This movie is based off the novel that was written BEFORE the Parasite Eve games, the games themselves were inspired OFF the novel that THIS is an adaptation of.

You won't get Aya in this film, because she wasn't in the original novel which means, this is NOT what happened before the games as they're both based off the same source material.
