The guy was so good at gospel. As an Elvis fan, I have seen almost all his movies. And believe me, they are crap. Absolutely crap . And mostly because he is so performing under his own level. Like Van Gogh doing greeting cards, and Shakespeare writing for Hallmark. And still, I love the guy, but o damn, what could he have done if he wasn't so damn obedient to his manager? One of the great "ifs" of of musical history. And still I want his songs. How great thou art. We'll never know, wont we?

i remember buying this alum on a cassette tape, then after hearing the gospel songs i had to go get it on the album which both i still have today i think how great thou art was the most powerfull way i ever heard elvis sing it,  the man was really putting all he cold into it, same as he did 4 years later in 1977 he really poured his heart into it that one also , he could really sing that song, in 74 and 77 the greatest two versions besides the original one back in 1966, rip. elvis

@lonelymikey55 While in Memphis, 2007, I bought teh CD..has a few more songs than the album and in my opinion, this was one of if not his best performance. His band, backup and his voice were all in twine. His voice was more steady and sounded much stonger....Yet all of his concerts were great.

i love this version! i like it better when he gets louder at 'oh my god how great thou art' as to the original recoding. love the cd! have it!
