I sometimes feel that one needs to master Bach before they can play Beethoven. The slow parts here to me display the patience and expressiveness that many pianists can't convey. There is often, not always an urge to fill the long gaps between notes or play too fast. Amazing.
long live ludwig van,a brilliant work of fantasy, rhythms full of ingeniosity inspiration, despite being a series of variations, and with mr.gould the excellent canadian pianist, sad he died so young at 50 in 1982,at least he left a wide range of recordings
Gould is unsurpassed.

Playing Bach helps to interpret everything.

I almost started crying. Maybe its because I have a 30 pages of papers to write, but this piece felt so heavy and sad. Glenn Gould is a genius

In my youth I played these variations. I confess that I would have performed better if I had had the opportunity to hear Gould´s performance then.
