Damn, you don't even know how all nowadays pop music sucks comparing to this. Definitely, I can say that 80's were the borderline and many expected to have more after that decade. However 90 were good but in fact they were really pale. 00s were crap and 10s may be shit as well.
@Sheanicky but of course it's related!! She changed the lyrics..... but this song and 'don't you know' were the starting point form which the other stay evolved. Ok... musically there is no relation anymore, nevertheless they are all somewhat tied together. In Like a Virgin Madonna used other old material from the early days.... 'over and over' had a previous incarnation too.

Madonna combined the verses from Don't You Know with the chorus of Stay (81) and turn it into the song Stay as it appeared in the Like a Virgin album.
With all due respect, both songs in their original state were better than the one on the album.

Musically or lyrically speaking.. there is no way that this is related to the
Stay that ended up on the Like a Virgin album in 1984. This demo is
good but I like the more known Stay better.

This demo is so much better than the final cut that made it to the Like A Virgin album.

This is from the demo that got her signed to Sire. I don't think Like A Virgin was even a concept yet.

But... if her first album was released in 1982, how is it possible that this is from the "Like a Virgin" Sessions?
