One of their best tracks of their best album. Tape some huge speakers to your head - no pissy little headsets - and WAP IT UP L O U D !!!! Wamadamadingdong!!!
@bozewani, i wonder how long you'd stand in the ring.. Don't be such a naive, I think he got further than anyone else would've.. So easy and cheap to critic on matters you obviously know nothing about..
Politics in Australia, and now the world,,, we need a vocal Garret. you only have to get on a jet and have a look at the mess, and its a mess. Garret roar again because "slow wheels turn", we will vote even the people "that chose not to"(it is Law to vote in Australia), i was 7 years old and we where told to throw stones at the "Greenies" at the gates of Olympic Dam South Australia. 2008 and look at the world, we are STILL raping it and THAT IS FACT
What a brilliant song. It always takes me back to my years in that great southern land. I always thought this one best captured the magic of the red center. Thanks for that!
As always: simple, wise lyric and wonderful music. It is so easy to imagine pictures of Australia listening to this song. Has this song a video? If it has, it must be uncommon. Thanks for such songs, guys.

Peter Garrett knows you change the system from within. Unfortunately in the US, speaking out brings the law down and stomps the Constitution as we knew it. Be careful who you write to as you'll end up with friends you never invited. Christ is coming back - not global warming.
They opened with this in Stockholm when we were growing up. 19 May 1988. It was a 'you should have been there' event. They arrived on time, started on time, and never let up for hours. And they started at midnight. (Appropriate.) It took fifteen minutes to settle the crowd down afterwards - and they were mostly media people. I still have Garrett's song sheet somewhere. And this sounded exactly like the record. They're the consumate live band too.

A wooden ruler with a hole at one end and a piece of string threaded through it makes a good bullroarer.
Maybe just mime the song while swinging a bullroarer around your head so as to get a bit of vision happening might work?
