  • We did this in science class but we used 2L bottles and ran the internal pressure up to I think 70PSI. The Mythbusters proved that your average 2L bottle is safe up to 130PSI, so no danger of explosion. Anyway, mine went an astounding 287ft (the furthest one went 313ft!)

    You might want to give the 2L bottle thing a try, Steve. You might also be able to use pretty much any bottle that'll fit over 1/2in PVC. I always wanted to try one of the smaller pop bottles...
