I'm going to have to agree with apingebrig. As a Padres fan for life, I got goosebumps every time I heard hells bells. It's a long drawn out entry, and it helps really savor the save, the victory, and the fun of going out to the ball park. Enjoy Trevor!
I went to the game last night, and as soon as Hoffman threw his last bullpen pitch, all the pitchers in the bullpen jumped off the bench and went to the fence to watch him pitch. The entire crowd stood and started clapping even before he was announced. He's off to an amazing start, and us Brewers fan are having a blast with the coolest player intro in MLB and the best reliever so far.
I was also at last night's game -- coolest thing I have seen at a baseball game. It reminded me a little of major league when the played "wild thing" when Charlie Sheen's character came in to pitch.
We Miss TREVOR. Hard to see a player for 15 years in the same uniform and then POOF he is gone. He is doing so well with the Brewers. I think it's the old adage... "CHANGE OF SCENERY" His time and energy were dwindling in SAN DIEGO. Look now. Heath Bell has 12 saves for the Padres. So you can say it has been a wash for the PADRES. Ironic... we San Diego has a closer with the name BELL. Yet we can't play Hells Bells....
At the game last night vs. Cubs. Hadn't seen Hoffman in person yet. Two observations: (1) That is the coolest entrance in baseball. That joint was ROCKING when he came on. (2) His change-up is plain filthy. He threw one that made Micah Hoffbauir swing like a bitch.
ENJOY... ENJOY... I have been a Padre Season ticket Holder for 10 years. Been watching Hoffy Pitch since he came to the Padres. When you have a great closer FANS stay to the end of a game. He brings so much to a Ball Game and the fans. The 1998 PADRE season with Hoffy was great. Enjoy that HELLS BELLS while it lasts. You are now the lucky one.... ENJOY!
oh don't get me wrong brewers fans. I'm not blaming Trevor for anything. The old ownership and management are to blame. It just sucks to see "Trevor Time" happen in some other city. Kinda like Favre putting on the a Jets jersey.
Hulk blame the padres they are the ones who screwed hoffman over hoffman didn't screw the padres the padres screwed hoffman don't get it twisted be pissed and the padres not hoffman
no matter what him and that song is a padres tradition
