  • also from freddy's nightmares i remember seeing this logo too.

  • Comment removed

  • what a power

se eu fosse da lorimar pictures era o gajo mais poderoso do mundo

if I was from lorimar picture i was the most powerfull guy in the world

  • wow i just now discovered the meaning of this logo...it symbolizes the two companies (Lorimar, and Telepictures) "crashing" together when they merged :D

  • zis logo had scared me till i gown upp!

  • This is at the end of Mama's Family

  • this is also taken from Gumby

  • as we all know this was LTs last season working together (pretty much what vzeu019j said lol) and after that they used the almost silent white marble background that gave u an uneasy feeling sometimes.

  • Yeah, for Lorimar Television with the marble background, it kind of does give a somewhat uneasy feeling, by the way the jingle comes out. What could be even more scary is the warped/sped-up version that came out circa 1991 on a few shows until 1993.

  • ya i was...somewhat unexpected for that logo lol.

  • the warped/sped-up version never scared me but the full version was the one I didn't like. I remember seeing that one on gumby late one night

  • This logo kicks some serious butt!

  • Lorimar-Telepictures surprisingly owned an then-independent station in Puerto Rico between 1986 and 1988(WLII San Juan, Ponce, Puerto Rico). As a struggling TV station before 1981(due to the fact it went off the air, and went silent), Lorimar-Telepictures bought WLII in December of 1985(WLII is the current name since 1986), renaming it "TELE-ONCE", and the parent company surprisingly dubbed American sitcoms into spanish! The channel is now a Univision(spanish-languaged channel)affiliate....

  • you forgotten to mention that also used the lormar telepictures logo cartoon the silverhawks

  • er that was the prototype logo that you see a video of in the 2nd toolbar on the right and that was used in thundercats/silverhawks as well.

  • If someone has the Love Connection end credits from the 87 season the has the Lorimar Telepictures extended theme fade to black please upload it on here that would be very good.

  • full house early seasons used this

  • Yes, the first season(and the FIRST SEASON, ONLY) of "Full House" had this logo, between the 1987-88 season. That was LT's last season working together as a company, as we know.

  • what about family matters?

  • "Family Matters" began in 1989(specifically September 22, 1989)on ABC, so they never had this logo, as Lorimar's name was then "Lorimar Television".

Lorimar-Telepictures was "separated" in 1988, as Lorimar was then "Lorimar Teleivison"(until September 1993), and Telepictures was then known as it's current name-Telepictures Productions.

  • '80s-tastic

  • This is by far the best Lorimar logo ever! I had to wait for it at the end of Dallas. ;) There was also a shorter version without the 3 dings.

  • TY al least i received a comment before my comment got to 4 days ago lol

  • and plus the ding! you hear before the fireworks start i think is the WB logo (and music)

  • Well, I don't know about the WB LOGO, but I don't think that WB Television used a jingle back then., they started using one in1994....

  • if im right the 1st season of full house had this logo.

  • You ARE right.

  • This was used to end a few shows I recall:

    "Thundercats"

    "Gumby Adventures"

and sometimes, "Alvin and the Chipmunks".

  • oh and don't forget the first few seasons of Full House

  • Only the first season of "Full House" had this logo, maseram1234. From there(1988 until 1993), it was produced by Lorimar Television, and then from 1993 to 1995(when the show went off the air), "Full House" was then produced by Warner Bros. Television.

  • Oh ya...that's right...

  • The beginning of the jingle sounds a little like the Viacom V-of-doom sounder

  • OMG! I love this logo! I have it on the first season of Full House. Thanks for posting it!

  • Brilliant Design And Graphics!! A Fat 6!! The LORIMAR-Telepictures logo was used in shows like "Dallas," "Falcon Crest," "Knots Landing," and "Perfect Strangers" for the 1986-1987 Television Season.

  • mama's family also used this

  • You are definitely right. I overlooked that show -- too. I do agree with that comment; moreover, they did use it for "It's A Living" and "Our House" during the 1986-1987Season. I still rated the logo a fat 6!!

  • sounds like Viacom's v of doom a little bit. Please upload this logo with v of doom music.

  • This was the first one I saw. The tinkle at the end must be what is left of the Telepictures jingle.

  • damn thats my name -.-

  • It sounds like the last few seconds from the end of Dallas, circa 86'

  • That music appeared in my dream one fateful night! After this thunderstorm. Presented cleanly by Lorimar production, I thank YOU!!! I dedicate this video to the darkest recess of my beautiful and musical mind!

  • With the fireworks in this logo... Did they use real fireworks, or is that animated?

  • I think they used CGI fireworks.

  • It appears at the end of Perfect Strangers.

  • "The Hogan Family" (when it was titled "Valerie" March 1986-87 and "Valerie's Family fromm 1987-88) also originally had the Lorimar-Telepicutres logo, but it was used in a F-Flat sound on that show.

  • Don't forget "Fun House" as well...

  • That was a great show!!

  • I've seen this on the gumby outro.

  • Taken "Love Connection"

  • what about love connection? it was taken from that?

  • It looks more like it was taken from either Full-House or Family Matters.

  • Except "Family Matters" never used this logo, and it didn't debut until '89.

  • Always enjoyed this logo, which I first remember seeing at the end of The $1M Chance of a Lifetime in early 86.

  • I STILL love hearing the theme for this! :D

  • This was always my favorite logo from Lorimar. I saw this logo appear on the Closing credits of Full House...

  • It appears on Perfect Strangers.

  • Nobody is mentioning Alf?

It had this in season 1 and 2 =)

Then the grey boring logo came in 3 and 4.

  • Did Lorimar have any logos from '68-'70?

  • That logo is a variant of the perfect strangers comedy but upside down!

  • I remember this music, only with the Lorimar Logo against the White backdrop after the ending of Dallas!!!! It was also immortalized in my dream when used to live at either Concord or when I used to live in my old house in Gabarda!

  • R.I.P. Lorimar. 1971-1993. :'(

Telepictures is still around, though. They produce Judge Mathis, Dr. Keith Ablow, and a lot of other shows.

  • They also Co-produced the reruns of Mama's Family, Elimidate, and also produced that stupid Ellen DeGeneres Show. I really miss the Lorimar Logo. By the way, Lorimar was established in 1969, not 1971. Their first presentation wa sproduced in '71, though.

  • I always remember this at the end of Dallas in the mid-eighties.

  • what about Full House? I love this logo! I also love Full House!

  • It's only on season 1

  • The logo only appeared on the first season of Full House.

  • I saw a few episodes of Fun House on youtube, and they had this logo at the end, chimes and all.

  • THANKS PHASCICBLU!!! :)

  • One of the best logos of all time!

  • This is really nicknamed "The Colliding Comets".

  • This kind of thing became classic for a lot of us and as necessary as the program it was previous to. For example, 2 weeks ago i ´ve purchased all the Thundercats seasons on dvd and it was disappointing not to find this logo at the beginning. Thanks for show it here. Nice memorabilia.

  • Hey! I remember this on at the end of "The Hobbit" and the 1980s version of "Gumby"!

  • Oops. I mispelled "one".

  • I also remember seeing that when;

Nick @ Nite had Rowan & Martin's Laugh In

(Classic) Disney Channel; The Easter Bunny Is Coming To Town, The First Easter Rabbit, The Stingiest Man In Town, Rudolph's Shiny New Year, The Year Without A Santa Claus (when they had uncut Rankin-Bass, not like today's ABC Family Channel).

  • The TV production company Lorimar debuted from 1968 until 1993, and then, it became Warner Bros. Television. Lorimar teamed up with Telepictures in 1986. However, it will be "TBS/Warner Bros. Television" in '08.

  • Please pay no attention to the comment above. That comment is not my own. My brother happened to post that comment while I was logged on. He (nor do I for that matter) has no proof whatsoever that the so-called "TBS/Warner Bros. Television" meger would ever take place and is merely a fantasy of his. My apologies to anyone that may have been lead on by this blurb.

  • This was on Full House

  • Yeah, but only on the first season.

  • ah This logo brings back lots and lots of memories for me. I wish the 80's would come back....I am glad I lived it.

  • my fav logo of all time. i love lorimar.

  • I remember seeing this logo during the first two seasons of Perfect Strangers. I haven't seen the full version of this logo in ages (withe the three chimes at the end)

  • I don't know why I used to be afraid of this end logo but I'd remember hiding from the TV when I would feel the presence coming.

Now that I'm older, it's like a great 4th of July celebration. haha.

I sometimes daydream this logo as well.

  • i think i know why you were afraid of this logo--it's dark and most of the jingle is loud, which was why i was afraid of this logo as a child

  • yeah, you're right about that. The loudness did jump me by surprise but I still find it to be not much of a bother now.

  • yeah i do have the two versions of the marble LORIMAR TELEVISION logo i hope to upload them and many more logos shortly thanks for the posts

  • I like this logo, the whole thing just looks cool.

  • Phasicblu, do you have the 90's version. White background, LORIMAR in black writing.. and Television in a red bar ?

  • I remember this, its one of my favorites. When did Lorimar go out of business?

  • presumably a bit before fall of 1993, b/c most shows (Family Matters, Full House, Step by Step, Hangin' w/ Mr. Cooper, etc.) that were produced by Lorimar before or prior to the fall of '93 would have been produced by Warner Bros. from that point on.

  • If Lorimar was still around, they would of produced The Flash and Lois and Clark-The New Adventures of Superman (Acourding to a book on DC Comics, Lorimar was gonna make the show, but it wa shut down so WB can do it, because Warner not only owned Lorimar, but DC Comics as well.)

  • Sorry the volumes so low not sure why that is.

  • It's all right. At least, we have now the Lorimar-Telepictures logo in long version.

  • Actually the long version of this logo's music was heard on "Dallas" during the 1986-87 season, as after the three chimes were heard, there was still some more music to play, and then the logo faded out.

  • and it was also used on "Dallas's" spin-off show "Knot's Landing" as well, except in the case of that show, the L-T logo followed after the Roundelay-MF Productions logo.

  • Yeah, this is good stuff. Thanks.

  • That's how the extended version of the LT logo was, it always had low volume, even on the TV versions.
