@tamoniva12 : No question is a silly question - we refer to 'Masala" as in the cooked end product of Onions, tomatoes, ginger and garlic. This paste is used as a base for a lot of North Indian cuisine. If you go to our website or our channel page and search for "How to make Masala (in Bulk)", there is a detailed video on it.
this recipe sounds delicious! i have another question for you though...how do u clean the grates on your stove?..i cannot for the life of me get them clean...any ideas would be great!
@jannat84 : We have heard that Baking Soda does wonders for them. We have personally never tried it but have been told so. We use "Barkeeper's friend", it is a product that you find in grocery stores and is greats with heavy duty cleaning in the kitchen.
Why not cook with lamb or some other red meat? I was raised on a typical vegetarian, dal chawal, roti diet but since early last year I started bringing meat into my diet and I have noticed my stamina, energy levels and general mood are all way better than it was before. As I read some books on the subject (Primal Blueprint and Good Carbs Bad Carbs) I am getting more and more convinced that the typical high carb Indian diet is simply no good and leads to health problems...
@LOLMAN22 I eat meat but for me the great thing about a lot of these recipes is that you can adapt them to your own tastes and make a meat version if you want. I think it is great to see the variety of vegetarian cooking in the indian tradition because I personally am trying to eat less meat for a number of reasons, just one being that too much meat in your diet can have the same negative effects as not eating enough!
hmm here in India, if i ask for gluten, i get strange looks, i guess i'll just have to try it out with meat or soy nuggets.
p.s. i no its none of my business but Hetal looks totally tired and worn-out here :(
