I've got an objection to this video. This offset crash is set with an object that doesn't move on impact (is it suppose to be another car? that's what offset impacts are trying to simulate). The object impacted doesn't absorb some of the impact energy, it channels all the kinetic energy back to the JGC. If this were another car being hit, the other car (which is stationary) would deflect some of the kinetic energy. I own a GC and I love it to death.

I would like to add that in these tests the weight of the vehicle itself or let me say the mass of the vehicle acts against it since it leads of the force X at speed Y. So a Yaris might do better than the Jeep in standalone tests while in reality when a Jeep hits a Yaris the latter is going to get screwed big time due to the weight difference which is another thing that these tests don't consider. We hit other cars in most of the cases not walls

I have a 2000 gc laredo and its quadra drive and it rides better than my grandmas2000 that is a slect-tract 4x4 and it dosent ride as well that might be the difference but its a Jeep so it wont be the best ride.

Ford bought Volvo in 1999 or at the end of 1998, Ford in Europe had the Ford Focus before it had bought Volvo, and that Focus reached 4 stars. At that time no car was better not even Volvo, all cars had only 4 stars in crash test. A couple of years ago all cars were like this jeep. When you look again you think what's the matter Ford owns Volvo, even the technology of Volvo however they don't just get things from Volvo but they give things to Volvo too, for example the Ford C1 platform.

I drive a 2001 GC limited. I knew it wouldn't score well but this kind of scares me, ha. Either way, the way you drive most determines your safety, so I'll take my chances I guess for the great mobility of Jeep vehicles.

Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge, they all suck. My mother had this model a 2004, it was plagued by transmission issues and all the plasic started to peel at around 25,000 miles. She got rid of it. What a waste. Keep this in mind, all the maintainence was done at the local Chrysler dealership, always on time.

compare a Jeep to any thing near its price range its the best car on the market. Fuck i my cousin had a wrangler with 180,000 miles on it and drove it rough. Its the most reliable car i nits price range, and best 4 wheel drive system ever.

@mwolverines0924 LOL Jeep is way too much expensive and you can compare it with 100s of cars around and find better without problem. You can even buy a Mercedes or Porsche for one Jeep like Grand Cherokee (at least in EU). Jeep is a really overpriced car.
