...well, we do dress like that to perform, but if we are in a normal day ...we dress normal. Only back in the day were coins worn daily. my grandmother told me that the coins were for 2 reasons, one to keep our money safe and two because people were going to stare and be rude, so we might as well give them a reason to stare. the coins gingled made noise and turned heads. lol and I think she ment disrespect lol she seems sweet, i doubt she was trying to be hurtful.
