For me, his songs (be it the loudest, crazy stuff or the quiet melodies, the fun, the sad, etc) - all of them give me a sense of calm,,,that everything is going to be ok... Peter is a musical genius. I completely agree with aMpMusicRocks - it is sad how people tend to focus on his negative points. But doesn't everyone have negative points themselves? Its just how the media portray things to the general public and how they exaserbate things. Peter is a victim of the media - but he is a musical genius and I hope he will continue to make such good quality music for many years to come!

I think he's a really sweet and beautiful musician to listen to though. I love Gracelands & Last of The English Roses.

I think his drugs have inspired his creativity, it's just sad it caused him problems with prison and his personal life.

His solo work is amazing, and Graham Coxham is a top choice of collaboration.

I hope he overcomes his long addiction to cocaine, etc. It's a shame to read about him continualy going in and out of prison and rehabs for cocaine.

It's a shame he lost Kate Moss too, although she did go downhill when he influenced her on cocaine.

I think it must be hard for him, as Kate is the worlds most beautiful model and he must really be upset, but she did give him an ultimatum between coke and her, after she went into rehab, and he couldn't come off cocaine, despite going into rehab.

I love Peter, he's changed my life musically therefore changed my life period. His lyrics are brilliant and he is a funny & clever man. I was just reading the paper and saw a column on him. What bothers me is that people always start their sentences with 'troubled rocker pete doherty' instead of focusing on his good points as if they dont matter. Another thing is the pictures they always show of him, with his eyes rolled back in his head and what not...LOVE U PETER ;)

3.This guy can alter his style with such ease, its scary how someone can have such talent! I could have written a whole novel on the character Salome after hearing that song once. Broken love song and I am the rain have some amazing lyrics and I only wish I had on ounce of his talent. This is the best thing hes done since The Libertines, and maybe even ever! Im no music genius but it doesnt take one to know this is perfection, for me anyway, 10/10 Id say.

His passion for history comes crackling out in 1939 returning, and when listening to The sweet by and by I felt like I could have been sat in some quaint bar in the 40/50s with that song playing on the wireless, with its crescendo of instruments and the way his voice ripples and dances.

1. Okay so fair enough, I am a major Doherty fan..but SERIOSULY this album is AMAZING! I mean yeah I do freaking adore this guy so im going to lean towards enjoying it. Each song is different to the next; they dont all drone on about some unrequited love like most songs nowadays, he uses an array of certain instruments to make the whole song seem to fit perfectly with the poetic and BEAUTIFUL lyrics, each one with a different meaning, a different message to portray.
