  • Should I get these or Zildjian ZHT?

  • @Shriffican SABIAN ALL THE WAY!

  • @Shriffican

Get these u can thank me later they blow anything swiming aound and a bit above its price range out the water just to say I think they are much better in tonal quality than the Paiste Alphas!!!!!.

  • Zildjian K is best from Zildjian. and i like some of the XS20's better than sabian's higher lines... i like the B8 and the XS20 ride out of all sabian rides..

  • @TSdrummerman You're right... A customs sound real computerised...

  • sabian and zildjian are both good, i just prefer the k line over everything else

  • i'm a motherfucker

  • I dont know why people always compare Xs20 and APX ?? Why ?? Xs20 are beginners - intermediate cymbals and APX are proffessional cymbals like AAX , HHX , AA's or HH's ...

  • @junos6 only HHX and HH's are professionals...

  • @RigoStar Look in the cymbals line on Sabian's website. HH's , HHX's , AA's and AAX's are professionals

  • @junos6 yeah.. and B8Pro are professionals because they have the name "Pro"on it??

  • @RigoStar No because they're made from B8 alloy

  • @junos6 HH and HHX are simply the top because they have more hand work on it and have a very musical sound... AA and AAX are medium-pro cymbals used by some professionals but that doesn t mean they are the best in the house... and how is APX pro level?

  • @RigoStar how many times do i have to say this? AA, HHX, HH, AAX = all same quality pro level cymbals, the only difference is in sound, and maybe some hand work in the HHX/HH series but thats what makes them sound dark and dry, unlike AA or AAX's which are bright and cutting , just as zildjian Avedis or A Customs. APX is pro level B8 cymbals, machine lathed and hammered, but with professional sound in mind.

  • I like zildjians pro cymbals way better than sabians, but sabians entry/intermediate lvl is wayyyyyyyyyyyyy better/

  • 10 seconds in you can tell this guy is full of shit.

  • I love how at 1:12 he matches up his playing with his saying "incredible sounds"

  • yeah these cymbals arent really good for anyone that plays metal music..maybe hard rock or just general rock but not metal..i bought a 22 inch rock ride and wow...horrible bell cant cut through the rest of the instruments and i had 2 crashes of these and nah...good cymbals though i recomnd them to anyone not plaiying in a metal band (:

  • @TheCastroson I use a 20" medium ride in my metal band... seems to cut through just fine. I spose it can also differ between types of metal. :) The hats are great though... I love em.

  • @TheCastroson

    Def not for metal folks

  • this guy is so awesome!!!!!!!!! i saw him live and got to talk with him, hes really cool and down to earth...if you can see him, dont turn it down!

  • I just love the way he talks haha

  • Sell those Cymbals Dom you Sabian whor..err Endorsee.. lmao..

  • love this dude

  • did anybody see the stick flip at 1:27 lol

hes like the ultimate little kid in the candy store

  • Me to lmao

  • He must be a really cool guy lol I'd lke to meet him

  • I've found these to be very comparable to Zildjian Avedis basic line and the more basic Sabian AAs. Great cymbals at reasonable price!

  • Whats better as a crash, the 18" crash ride, or the 18" crash I think its a medium crash, because I don't like sabian's thin crashes.

  • I've used the B8's in the past. When mic'ed right they sound awesome. BUT....the XS20's are by far better sounding straight out of the box. If you're strapped for cash and you want a "decent" sounding cymbal go for the B8's. You can get a nice set w/ 14" hats, 14" cr. 16" cr. 18" cr. 20" ride and 10 splash for around $300 if you want "good" sounding ones get the same set up with XS20's for around $575. If you can afford it, go for the XS20's!! I am!!

  • @Lydirius I'm just starting out, and I still don't have "real" cymbals. All I have are stock Premier cymbals that sound pretty crappy. Would you recommend starting out with the B8 complete pack or the XS20? Budget isn't the issue since I'm paying and I can afford both. With the B8 I'll be able to exchange the heads on my drums as well though. And I insist on getting at least hats, 2 crashes, and a ride, because I really want the variety.

  • I've been in that situation before. If at all possible, go with the xs20's. If you can't get them AND heads......well, get the b8's. The set I bought (xs20's) was a pretty big set. Guitar Center has a deal on the b8's: the exact set up you want for 260+tx Hopefully you have stands. As far as head go, you can get complete sets pretty cheap. SO..xs20 if you can..b8 if you have to.

    Happy Drumming!

  • @Lydirius Thanks for the advice. I'm considering the PST5 too. Any comparison? Anyways I don't live in the U.S btw. But I can switch currencies for the sake of this conversation. I now have around $907 saved. My last stretched budget was around $667 (my last decision). The xs20 with stand (unfortunately I still need those :P) and Evans heads (full 5 piece reso and batter except bass reso, since my brother is getting me an Inked one) are around $855. You see where I'm going?

  • @Lydirius Sorry for cutting this into two replies, got out of the character count :P. anyways. 200 bucks above my budget... For the b8 thats 270 bucks cheaper on the cymbals themselves. Still recommend? I'm in for the idea to be honest. I just don't want it to be something reckless a beginner drummer would do.

(I just finished a small 40 min practice or so right before I read this ;)

  • whats better, brilliant or natural finish?

  • whichever one is shown here cuz they sound awesome

  • I'd say brilliant. I played them both and though a lot of people may say "there's no difference", there is. You can hear it. Just like playing a brand new clean cymbal versus playing that exact cymbal after years of playing and no polishing. PLUS, they look better!

  • What is NAMM exactly? I'd like to go some time, especially if you get to see guys like Dom.

  • @iDrum63 it stands for "National Association of Music Merchants". It's a huge trade show held in January in Anaheim CA.

  • are they xs20 mediums or rock? either way they sound awesome

  • i think they are rock because the medium bell is smaller but they do really sound sick!

  • @tisBenG Medium

  • The Dom!...

  • this guy is nuts

  • do think these or the sabian apx line is better. i play metal. are the apx 18" crashes good cuz im thinkiing of getting one. are they professional? better than zildjian zhts?

  • just use your ear, APX and xs20 are def. better than any low zildjian line

  • @wes0014 even though I'm a zildjian fanboy I can't argue with that haha I'm actually getting a pair of evolution hats next month, I'm starting to accept that sabian has cymbals that are better than zildjians and zildjian has cymbals that are better than sabians, however I still think paiste sucks

  • @pescalante2 Haha you'd be right there ;) But it's personal preference, really. I think Paiste cymbals are way too bright and pingy.

  • @wes0014 what about B8s? I think they're better than ZBTs.

  • i think they are better then the zhts.,

But good cymbals are aaxplosion fast crashes dudee there fast, bright..

but i dont know why i dont like apx i like the xs better.

  • apx FTW ... zhts sucks

  • certainly the apx were made for a modern metal sound.i have heard the zhts used in a butch of music but not metal particularly. as far as xs20 i use them for alternitive and the crashes do project but they arent particularly low wich is a trend of metal music that i have heard your best bet is going to a guitar center or music store and test em out. because at the end of the day music is all your prefferance.

  • I agree man. The ONLY way to pick cymbals in my book, go play them!

  • which one is better for sound this or the b8s?

  • 1030491200419240 Times This.

  • this 4 SURE

  • this. its a cast cymbal which is rather better than a sheet bronze cymbal like b8's

  • They have a mid range cut in them. Not like AA or AAX. If you want high decibel cut get the B8Pro or the APX.

  • they sound great for their price.

you get what you pay for.

  • im getting the rock ride / hats/ crash xs20 , not my dream cymbals but they are very good price. a customs are my dream cymbals

  • ebay

  • where the namm is ?

  • California

  • they sound really good for this price!

    1:28 lol..

  • alright. sabian Xs-20 vs paiste alpha

i've heard so much about paiste value and i like my pst 5 a lot but i also hear a lot of good things about these Xs-20s. preferably from someone who has used both, which sounds better/more valuable?

recommend some combinations? for instance, Xs-20 ride w/ alpha crashes....ya know.

    thanks!

  • you can't compare paiste alpha with these xs20's

the alpha's are B8 and the xs20 are, well B20 and CAST

    although,

    rides: the paiste's , the xs20 rides don't have a decent bell

    anything else, the xs20's!

the crashes sound amazing, even the 18" crash-ride sounds lively, doesn't have a gongy/ride overtone when you crash it

  • are they loud enough? i've heard they aren't very loud.

  • they're sabians :) most will agree that they're pretty loud ;)

  • they are dark sounding cymbals.

if you want loud, volume, explosion, look elsewhere.

  • He laughs at the start of all his vids. He's so cool

  • honestly, the xs20 sounds almost identical to the higher end cymbals, your the only person that can tell the difference, i have the 20 inch and they sound awesome

  • i have a xs20 10inch splash, its ok, im replacing it right away, its just not loud enough for me

  • じっちゃん元気やの~´∀`ノ

  • and hi hats paiste pst 5 or xs20?

  • Pst5 is really good but if u got the money for Xs20 u should buy em' :)

  • pst 5...watch cobus drum covers thats the epitemy of amazing mic'd pst 5s

  • should i get a xs20 ride or a zht ride??????

And what crash should i get an xs20 or what?

    Cost less than 200$

  • I really don't like the ZHT line at all. I would go with either the PST 20 inch medium ride or the one of the XS20's in this price range, or try and find a really nice used ride cymbal.

  • i like the zht hats and the crashes are ok

but i would go for paiste alpha or pst5s

  • hey, does anyone know which the first two crashes are that he hits? im looking to upgrade cymbals and really like those crashes in particalars sound.

  • he teaches IGOR FALECKI now, the genius drummer who is only 7 yrs old but his video when he was drumming (at 4 yrs old) has over a million views!

  • are these better than the Zildjian zht?

  • Im afraid so.

  • Go for AAX Sabians. Never wrong, better than Custom A Zildjians.

  • im trying to decide between those to lol

  • yer

  • Much better!

  • da 20in XS20 Ride is my favorite

  • doesnt he play mapex?

  • he's the billy mays of drums

  • rofl

  • Hi! I'm Billy Mays Here with the Sabian XS20s. Buy the cheapest one, get the rest free of CHARGE!!! ( $5,000 S&H _ They even cure HERPES!!!! *Fast talking guy says telephone number*

  • i saw him at the northamptop drum show thing... thomas lang, bozzio, chris pennie, russ miller and many more were there! it was great and Dom was great at introducing them alll :)

  • this guy could sell me petey the parakeet ...i could listen to him talk all day

  • Haha indeed.

There are few people I've seen who enjoy themselves playing quite as much as Dom Fomularo. Saw him in clinic with Liberty DeVito some years back and the guy was a trip; smiling the whole time.

Very, very personable, informative and of course, a lot of fun to watch.

  • i've got the 14" rock hi-hat and the 18" crash ride and their sound is amazing. 18" works as the perfect secondary crash.

  • i got the 16" crash and it cracked the first month i owned it and i dont even hit that hard

  • here are the possible problems:

1: YOUR TECHNIQUE maybe you hit the cymbal wrong check the SABIAN website to see how to take care of your cymbals

2: Its the cymbal makers fault

if its not your technique, call sabian and send it back in it has a 2 year warranty i believe

cuz xs20 wont break that fast :)

  • I got these recently and I was pleasantly surprised! Its kinda Mid-rangeso don't expect wonders but going from beginner to this is the perfetc leap :)

  • Is that Big Mike at 1:42 Lol???

  • that ride sounds amazing

  • i better like the sound of the sabian AA heavy ride.

  • what symbol is that small one at 1:16?

  • I'm pretty sure it's the 8" splash

  • i Was going to get it until i found it it was 140 dollars

  • Im thinking of getting them but im not sure, hes endorsing them, so obviously he is gnna say good things. :S

  • I have them, they sound brilliant!

  • are those the 13" or 14" hi-hats?

  • 14"

  • I'm gonna get these as some temporary nice but cheap cymbals til I can afford to replace my whole set with HHX series in a few years.

  • im savin up to get the premium pack. this guy is the man lol

  • The XS20 blends in great with any other sabian cymbal, that's why I love em!!

  • Xs20 cymbals are great they're made of high quality bronze and hand crafted at a relativly low price. you have to be a dumbass to say that they suck

  • anyone know what size crashes are there??? 18" medium thin + 16" med. thin???? thx

  • this is fuckin incredible

  • Those cymbals sound pretty damn good through the camera mic, for a beginners set. I strongly recommend the ufip tiger series as well. Absolutely awesome sound quality, and a cymbal set of a crash, a ride and hats here in oz retails for $529!

  • Well for me he seems a bit too blown away but he endorses SABIAN so they expect him to sell this

  • i kow hes a drummer but he does seem like hes tryng to sell these a bit lol

  • i got the cymbals, they aint that good, too jazzy for me

  • yea splashes are good

go for apx, or aa metal-x, or aax metal for crashes

  • I'm not usually a Sabian fan but those cymbals actually sound REALLY good

  • @Roddeo29 xs20 are some of sabians cheap cymbals

  • hes my dads cousin

    no joke

  • I am absolutely disgusted that people will say all this bullshit about dom. they've probably never even seen him play. I've met him and he's a great, genuine person and the people talking shit about him are the lowest kind of scum...makes me sick.

  • Actually the XS20's seem to sound a lot better thn I expected them to... and Dom Famularo is a monster drummer. He might be a bit over-dramatic with the motivation thing, but negative comments concerning him are just crap... basically.

  • i HAVE xs20 they sound good, but not like meiln or anything else...

  • Dudes you are all fag heads. He is premoting the new stock. Why should they be sh!t just because he doesn't use them. They are for intermediate players and he can afford the endorsement to get better cymbals. It is all relative guys and you are bullsh!t.

  • Watch a drum solo video of his. He's not a salesman, he's a drummer.

  • who cares aobut your cymbal's choice, try 2 be more humile and try to listen some dom's solo

  • lol! he always laughs like that!

  • dude he loves sabian, hes advertising.

  • he doesn't use any of these lol but then again, he never said these are better than aax or hhx or anything blatant like that, so cut him some slack. these cymbals aren't mindblowing great in any way but he's just doing his job endorsing the product.

  • dey look pretty good jus wonderin does any1 know if this is the rock or medium version of the range?

  • Hey guy, wondering if you could give me a bit of advice, I've been searching and searching for the right cymbals and these are great for me, but i was just wondering. Has every XS20 sabian cymbal been replaced by the brilliant finish?

Because i dont wanna end up buying these and finding out that they are the natural finihs and not the finish i wanted (the briliant finish)

    REPLY ASAP PLEASE!!

  • These Cymbals are soo fuckin bad.. I hate them , they sound like shit.. An too expensive

  • I bet Sabian gave him 20 dollars to talk for 3 minutes.

  • 20 dollars?

    More like 20.000 dollars.

  • i have a pair of xs 20's and the hats sound so good the crash/ride is pretty goods big step from b8 and the crash is alot better than b8

  • lol awh, this guy's awesome. the xs20's sound pretty good considering how cheap they are.

  • B8 cymbals sucks

  • this guys like nicko mcbrain

    so much personality

    and sooooo funny

    rock on

    o yeah....their drumming is incredible

  • really, these cymbals sound close to the B8 line to myself. the ride and hi hats sound a lil' better than B8s but not by much. not saying it's a bad sound, I very much like the B8 crashes, but the XS20 doesn't seem to be a huge step up.

  • yes.. now these cymbals sound good, because dom famularo said so. yes yes..

  • this guy can easily replace the oxi clean guy

  • It truly sounds amazing!

  • he always does like he has some magic formula to make weed 10x as strong as normally

  • mm they are so yummy. the cymbals.

  • lol, i love this guy, he is so funny

    god bless him

  • Every drummer has a few endorsers they take seriously. But every drummer ought to take Don, as an endorser, seriously!

  • I love this guy.

But I'm worried someday, he's going to eat his own head!

  • dom is the best, his smile makes me smile, it's contagious

  • Who doesnt love Dom, seriously

  • non drummers

he reminds me off santa clause a little bit

  • hes one of the most humble musicians ive ever seen.. i had a chance to meet him at the Sabian 25th party

  • Right on Dom! Positive, talented & truly one of a kind.

  • Freaking HUGE!!

  • dom is so awesome

you can just feel the passion radiating from this guy

  • Dom is the most cheerful drummer I've ever seen! No doubt about it! He sure loves what he does!!!
