do you have to actually have the disk, because I'm looking into this because I want to do the campaign and LAN with my friends who also play RTS games, but our AoE 2 Disk is either scratched or is just plain not working on our cpus. I have Windows XP pro and a DVD drive and don't want to go through replacement disk stuff at AL.

I would prefer fullscreen mode as well. (so not that windowed mode version...)

I stopped playing AoE and AoE2 on Zone because of all the "trainers" and "cheaters" that were taking over the internet with these games. Is there a lot of cheaters online anymore? Can you enlighten me about it this day and age with these games?

@gtownbennett When I used to play on clients other than Voobly, trainers and cheaters were a huge problem and were absurdly common. I'm very happy to say that if you play on Voobly there are little to no cheaters because of their really strict and reliable anti-cheat. I am not sure how common cheaters are on Game Ranger as I haven't played there enough, but overall for Aoe and Aoe2 cheating has really shrunk over the years because the client developers have started cracking down on it. :)

@BigJonas7 he doesnt keep selecting them, he actually mentions in one of his more recent videos that a black wtich curses him with vikings more than 50% of the time he goes random. loolo

@BigJonas7 Usually the standard thing to do online is to go with random civilizations and I usually get stuck with Vikings like Kyuutoryuu said (great memory!). My teammates always laugh when I get them as it's hilariously common for me to get them. I'm pretty solid with them on Black Forest for some ridiculous reason, probably lots of practice haha. :)

Never played aoe2 online but i have played it with LAN ALOT.

And i wonder if Goths are banned online or something? Becuse in my experience they are totally overpowred.

@mujmujmuj Nothing is banned online as the meta game is about as balanced as it can get. :) Goths are very easily shut down by many civilizations. For instance they have extreme issues with Aztecs and Teutons, so give that a shot next time you see a goth player. Infantry spamming won't get you everywhere assuming you have some hand cannoneers and some bulky units (your own champs) at the front line. :)

if your colors are messed up, right click aoe2, go to properties and check the 'run with 256 colors' box. should fix it (mostly for win7 users)

Its a good vid only main flaw i could see in it is you have to squint your eyes a little to read that white text xD. I would also like to make some vid recomendations 1. make a video on a large water mass map like islands(because gameplay and build set up is very different 2. make a video on all counters whats good vs what 3. and another vid on implimenting or deafeating tough tactis to beat( like spanish bombard tower push or even mass persain elephant) ^___^

@i3ent I believe that is your only option as of now. I think Voobly is working on a mac version but as far as I know it is not released as of yet. Game ranger isn't bad though so don't worry. :)

Gameranger is better, Voobly players tend to be too serious, they'll just call you straight noob even the slightest mistake you make :/
