@ravenweed930 yeah I pretty much knew Silent hill Origins blew balls I hated it. the person you played as had no right to be in Silent hill. He had no Back story with the town at all. Now Alex from Homecoming it seemed he lived in the town Silent Hill took over when he screwed up the sacrifice. His brother josh was supposed to be sacrificed to save the town and Alex killed him and that's why it all happened. Shattered Memories was decent but you could not kill the monsters that chased you.

second, i understand origins and it's premise is stupid. It's a game that explains the origins of the MOVIE not the original game. The truckers back story was not only tedious but boring to learn.
@ravenweed930 Alex was supposed to be the sacrifice. that's why his father was such an asshole to him when he was growing up. Whenever he messed accidentally killed his brother his parents didn't want to lose both of their sons so they had him committed to a mental hospital.One of the endings is of Alex waking up in a bathtub and then being drowned by his father in order to fix everything that happened.

The Japanese team made it with logic, passion, love, and creativity....those games are very personal to me. It is a game few truly understand. @Sceptorful The first 4 games actually focus on the characters and gives them their own personal stories that make you feel something for them. The games go farther than just quick scares and take time to give you a story that makes you feel something. where as the newer ones just move from one thing to the next so quickly like in shattered memories, lisa's death scene happens so quickly and then jumps to cybil pointing a gun at your character and blaming him for her death.
@Sceptorful well, the thing is japanese people are rather spiritual (which is a good thing).so everything they do they put more emotion and depth in it that touches your soul rather then have big explosions and awesome action (which is the typical american theme)
an action game sticks with you for about an hour. games like silent hill 2 and fatal frame become a part of your life. you never forget about it
@Da1337Man Damn fucking right. Everytime i tell somebody that SH2 is a game unlike any other and it changed a lot of things in myself they usually think i'm over-reacting. That's because those who haven't played these Silent Hill have their own vision of Survival horror games with resident evil, dead space and stuff... But SH2 is a game made with real emotions that sticks with you. The saddest and scariest game ever made.

(i REFUSE to buy silent hill 2 with german voices. id rather let a horse take a shit on my face) unless other countries just add different subtitles, that'd be awesome. havent checked into that yet. but i cant even play the PC version either cuz the company that converted it to pc fucked it up. somebody should attempt to do so again and do it right this time.

I don't like the newer games except for homecoming but I feel that homecoming should have been a stand alone game and not a silent hill game. It ties into silent hill but isn't actually about silent hill. just a subgroup that ran away from the cult in silent hill

Games are not being created on their own and fans should speak when they dont like something .Shattered Memories for instance was horrible , i cant get past the flaws of this game because its not what i wanted from a remake .The same goes for DmC Devil May Cry just because i m a DMC fan this doesn't mean i want a gay approach to my beloved series and just accept it

They actually made you feel something for the characters and yet scared you at the same time. That's why I like them better. There was more depth to them. Now dead space was a game that played on both quick scares and drawn out ones and will scare you shitless.

this song is really good, and I've always loved the dexter soundtrack so the score it's self will be good. the song that korn did in the trailer wasn't all that bad, in fact it kinda fits the new feel of this game and you're reading this from someone who absolutely despises korn.

ANYWAY, the gameplay and monster design look very, very good so far. I have high hopes for the game!

The music by Dexter's composer could be a fine, but Yamaoka was half of Silent Hill's ambiance. The old Silent Hill themes were done by Yamaoka, and most fans really like them. Personally, I don't think a nu metal band would make a good theme song for a Silent hill game.

A platinum band called Korn will be contributing the theme song for Silent hill Downpour. Don't misunderstood me the band will only doing the theme song though.
@zulzulhusni that still sucks, if i hear korn sings at all at any point in the game the series will be dead to me. Mary Elizabeth McGlynn is the only singer that should sing for silent hill. i surprised korn is still around, i stop listening to them around 10 years ago

This song has a nice feeling and I give props to the guy since he did the Dexter soundtrack, but let's be honest. Akira has capture the mood of Silent Hill the best. He's just so creative and original. I'm sure in time that this guy will grow and make some great music for Silent Hill, but Akira is just too irreplaceable.

@chrisSHkey Silent Hill (PSX), SH2, and SH 3. I even liked 'The Room' a bit even though it wasn't made to be like Silent Hill. I have to agree with you. After Team Silent left, other developers placed their greasy hands on a perfectly great franchise and rewrote AND ignored plenty of previous events in the series. I do not consider any game that was not produced by Team Silent to be canon.
Hmmmm .... if the game is good and the music fits, then this has the chance to be a fantastic game. I actually kinda like the song too. Loving the .... mandolin? Is that what I can hear in this? Ooooh. Let's hope the Russians do better than the americans on this one. I love all silent hill games but the last two just .... missed the creepiness and had too much fanservice (PH in Homecoming? I like that it sounds different from Yamaoka's work. Yes, Yamaoka is an incredible composer, but the Silent Hill main series pretty much died after 4. I'm kinda hoping this'll be a sort of "new series." Not literally, but I'm sure you get my idea. The only good SH game after 4 is Shattered Memories, which, of course, is not a part of the main series.
i have been a fan of SH since the first game on ps1. It was sad to see a change in composer but i am also a huge fan of HBO's Dexter and was excited to here that the guy who did the scores for Dex is taking on SH down pour.

@Sceptorful Actually Climax Studios is a British Company (They made Origins, Shattered Memories, and some small contributions to homecoming)
Valtra Games is working on this title, and they're based in the Czech Republic.
Double Helix is the only American Company to work on Silent Hill (They made Homecoming)
Though I agree with you these other developers just don't fully understand how to make a good Silent Hill Game. Team Silent will always be missed.

this song is really good, and I've always loved the dexter soundtrack so the score it's self will be good. the song that korn did in the trailer wasn't all that bad, in fact it kinda fits the new feel of this game and you're reading this from someone who absolutely despises korn.

ANYWAY, the gameplay and monster design look very, very good so far. I have high hopes for the game!
I'm hoping for another SH2 experience, and to erase the shit that was the Wii one from my mind. Also, God please keep the Pyramid Head out of this one... at least his movie form. Because if that shirtless fool is in there... >:[ (He had a lab coat on, damn you!)

If you think Korn cant do a good theme then youre just biased and havent heard any of their albums. See you on the other side is perfectly dark enough and i understand why the PEOPLE MAKING THE GAME chose them. Its obvious they know what they are doing.

@robhartjr123 I can not judge the quality of the game, since I have not played it. What I do know, is that I am a huge fan of all the Silent hill games I've played... And I LOVE the soundtracks. This soundtrack, I am not really that found of... but I certainly don't hate it. The music Korn makes, I do hate...
It is true that I am not choosing the music... But I do believe that other fans of SH, also have some issues with Korn making the music for the new game.

@S6O6A6D666 Honestly, I am not happy about any of that. I don't like Korn. I'm trying to fight with you, I just don't like them. The music by Dexter's composer could be a fine, but Yamaoka was half of Silent Hill's ambiance. The old Silent Hill themes were done by Yamaoka, and most fans really like them. Personally, I don't think a nu metal band would make a good theme song for a Silent hill game.

Some may knew this some may not but this information is new.
A platinum band called Korn will be contributing the theme song for Silent hill Downpour. Don't misunderstood me the band will only doing the theme song though.

This song has a nice feeling and I give props to the guy since he did the Dexter soundtrack, but let's be honest. Akira has capture the mood of Silent Hill the best. He's just so creative and original. I'm sure in time that this guy will grow and make some great music for Silent Hill, but Akira is just too irreplaceable.

I miss my old Silent Hill. New Silent Hill is great for a different audience, I'm just not that audience. Hopefully it'll become successful, but I'm off to replay my old favorites. Side note: The soundtrack IS A CRUCIAL part of Silent Hill. Akira WILL be missed by fans, that's for sure.

@chrisSHkey Silent Hill (PSX), SH2, and SH 3. I even liked 'The Room' a bit even though it wasn't made to be like Silent Hill. I have to agree with you. After Team Silent left, other developers placed their greasy hands on a perfectly great franchise and rewrote AND ignored plenty of previous events in the series. I do not consider any game that was not produced by Team Silent to be canon.

Hmmmm .... if the game is good and the music fits, then this has the chance to be a fantastic game. I actually kinda like the song too. Loving the .... mandolin? Is that what I can hear in this? Ooooh. Let's hope the Russians do better than the americans on this one. I love all silent hill games but the last two just .... missed the creepiness and had too much fanservice (PH in Homecoming? I like that it sounds different from Yamaoka's work. Yes, Yamaoka is an incredible composer, but the Silent Hill main series pretty much died after 4. I'm kinda hoping this'll be a sort of "new series." Not literally, but I'm sure you get my idea. The only good SH game after 4 is Shattered Memories, which, of course, is not a part of the main series.

i have been a fan of SH since the first game on ps1. It was sad to see a change in composer but i am also a huge fan of HBO's Dexter and was excited to here that the guy who did the scores for Dex is taking on SH down pour.
