It's perfectly normal to like Brian as a character, even with his psycho killing. You can't really blame the guy seeing as he went through so much shit in life, didn't go into adoption, was admitted to psych hospitals at a young age. You can't help but feel sorry for his character. HE ONLY WANTED HIS FAMILY BACK. But he can't have them back in a "normal" conventional way because both he and Dexter are already fucked up. I don't blame him for wanting to get rid of Deb. He wants his brother back.

I remember when I first saw this on TV. The moment when Dexter slits Brian's (Rudy's) throat and says: "Sorry, I can't hear you anymore", he curls up in the corner and raises the machine, AND the music starts playing, I got off the couch and just sat on the floor. Just watching every emotion that Dexter is going through with my heart beating. It was just one of those extremely powerful moments that I rarely get while watching a TV show or a movie...

@Necromancer47 - That's what I thought, too. They could have had him escape and it would be a nice touch at the very end of the SERIES (not the season) that he comes back. Now that they killed him off in Season 1, I don't think they'd find a better series finale. Brian was a GREAT add to the series. Would have loved to have seen him in Seasons 2, 3, 4 and 5.

It's actually a really moving scene.... on one hand you feel bad for Brian who's only trying to save Dexter but on the other he's trying to kill Deb suppose it just depends who you like more tbh i prefer Brian to deb...
