  • Such a great song. The lyrics are powerful beyond measure.

  • @CeloAndrade13 Thanks for posting btw. Great sound quality and nice video.

  • Their vocalist is crazy good... BUT, he's not shit without the rest of them.

  • @ThroughWater Stephan Jenkins IS good. But he was at his best when Salazar was still writing songs (or helping) for them. Two of the original members of 3eB left the band because of property issues with him. From what I understand, he's a real jerk. But he's a great singer/songwriter, that's for sure. Favorite band overall.

  • @jasonmrazscuzin Excuse me, I made a mistake. I meant Kevin Cadogan. The other member that left was Salazar. Kevin Cadogan was an unmistakeable guitarist for 3eB and an excellent songwriter. I really wish they would come back.

  • rancak bana...tambo ci'ek Da..

  • this is my song right now. All the people around me are new friends. I feel I can't trust anyone. My ideas have changed. I'm all alone as the world grows darker....

  • @ru0107 sometimes i wonder if the world really is becoming a darker place or is it just my perception, people in general are more depressed, way more defects of character, less honesty, compassion, less love

  • @decepticonsofnwo its the damn internet inspiring and supporting emos.

  • @decepticonsofnwo It has been like this since the dawn of time. Study up on your history and you will see.

Its probably you are becoming older and more jaded so you can see the world for its true nature.

Although beauty and love exists, it is surrounded by darkness , like a candle flickering in the storm wind approaching.

  • i love 3EB and whenever i talk about them nobody knows wtf im talkin about cuz i'm 13 ..

  • @TheMarisaCeee lol i know ..what a great band

  • 4 people like it with the lights on.

  • The outro is so skippy, poppy, and delightful I love it!

  • Best TEB song. Period. Real, raw, no one exposes their soul with more brillance and transparency like Stephan. Best song writer in secular music hands down.

  • Is it weird that I have dreams with this song as the background music lol

  • Need to see what lies beneath?Want to really wake up from the lies?intuition, healing powers, it is all part of human nature.Sleep no more, THE-HIDDEN-SPIRITdotCOM

  • Though it may have been just a couple of albums, they connected with me like very few others. Well done 3EB.

  • One of the most powerful 3EB song. Luv it !

  • I can't wait to say Third Eye Blind got me through high school.

  • @rhenzinger.....get off cadogan's nutt sack....and put the past away moron...

  • Whoa whoa whoa... Is that like a mutated bird on the moon?

  • This song really has gotten me through alot and I will never be able to thank Stephan and Kevin enough for their beautiful music and lyrics. Truly Blue and self titled are the greatest CDs of all time.

  • This song is so sad but is so amazing that at the end it makes you feel good, sucks to know we will never hear a new song wtith the lyrics of Jenkins and the guitar of Cadogan.

  • 1:27

  • i tend to agree, 3EB was never the same without cadogen, they had some good songs after his departure, yes...but overall quality of the albums have diminished, and if u disagree, chances are you probably werent listening to 3EB in 97

  • i meant camoflauge not sabotage. this is a top ten album of all time along with Foo fighters TINLTL,collective soul dosage, snow patrol AHMS,led zeps 4th& physical graffitti, cult's Sonic Temple & a few others.heres hoping ursa minor is a step forward from ursa major. i wish cadogan were back in the band too

  • @freedomleft Cadogen, Fredianelli, Salazar all gone...It's not even 3eb its just some guys playing old rifts and singing along with stephen jenkins.. who couldn't write a real fucking lyric if his coke sniffing nose depended on it. Old fucking Shallow Scrape. Way to just drown any real talent that wanted to make music with you.

  • @PassMeTheLazerBeam

I agree with you, it's not the same band. Much like the 'Smashing Pumpkins' these days. It's not that I don't respect Jenkins or Corgan, but they need to 'put the past away' and let those songs stay in the '90s where they belong.

  • Blue is 3eb's best album by far.listen with good headphones&all the lights out. darkness, farther, wounded, sabotage are all awesome.

  • i would love to see a playlist with all the 3eb songs and no others on it that would be me only fave playlist

  • ah so soothing :J

  • This song brings good memories.

  • After so many years passed this song still remains reminiscing and beautiful

  • My worthless opinion is: Stephan Jenkins needs to apologize big time to Kevin Cadogan, restore to him his half of the band ownership, and beg him to come back in. 3eb just hasn't been the same without Kevin, and the two of them together back in the band would put 3eb back in the spotlight and at the top of the charts -- no doubt about it!

  • @TheWaxworker I doubt Kevin would go back, even if Jenkins did apologize. Would you?

  • @Sceptorful That's a hard question. I definitely would not *unless* he agreed to give me back, completely, one-half of the total business. I doubt extremely that Jenkins would ever do that and I would not expect Kevin to go back in any case as that bridge has already been crossed.

  • I feel sorry for the people who've never heard this song. It has so many layers, so much soul, energy, emotion and of course kick ass underrated guitar!!

  • I love the snippet at the the end of the song... just like the background

  • This song is fucking amazing.

  • "this is darwin not darkness"???? are you f*cking serious????

  • @jkaizer23 The name of the song IS "Darkness." I know because I own the CD and have it in front of me. It's one of my prize possessions.

  • @TheWaxworker i know this song IS titled "Darkness". im just trying to be sarcastic to someone who was adamantly convinced this song is named darwin. i think it was mikks9876....

  • @jkaizer23 O.K.

  • This is Darwin not Darkness.

  • @thelostsheep2012 the bible says no one knows the hour or the day except for God

  • @thelostsheep2012 Wtf? lol

  • @thelostsheep2012 shut the fuck up faggot

  • @tyedog1234

    Such harsh language....you don't deserve 3eb

  • I'm so glad that they are not really really famous.....they make such good music and i wouldnt want that to change

  • always loved this song. good video

  • esta cancion le hace huevo!

  • Damn this song still makes me cry.... brings back many memories every-time I hear it

  • Doesn't this song remind anyone of Mayonaise by Smashing Pumpkins?

  • This song, Is how i feel about life.

I dont know where i would be without Third Eye Blind.

  • Third Eye Blind helps me feel better about some of the horrible things I've done... thank you T.E.B.

  • Seriously these guys have to be one of the greatest bands of all time. They sheer quality of their lyrics and meanings just puts all other artists in the dust. You can basically see pieces of 3eb's life in their songs.

  • LOVE THIS FREAKIN SONG. <333 *hugs Stephen Jenkins poster*

  • good song

  • I've had more than a few dark days over the past month and at times have felt emotionally and spiritually drained. When I'm at my lowest, this is the song I go to, and somehow I don't feel so alone or lost. That's the power lyrics have when someone like Stephan Jenkins puts their whole heart and soul into the process. I wish I could thank him for the difference he's made to me.

  • This is the best band I have listened to you sence i was in fourth grade.

  • My favorite underrated song by 3eb

  • I think every music artist out there should take a piece of 3EB's pie and write some lyrics that have meaning & make sense. Music should be more than just random words jumbled together.

  • Third Eye Blind is one of, if not, the only bands I actually listen to the lyrics the first time I hear the song. Hands down the best lyricists I've ever heard in my life.

  • @IanBowlesy I love your comment... So, so true...

  • Too many memories, and I did't even frow up with 3EB. Still hands down the best infulential bring you from depression band!

  • this band is the most underrated band ive ever heard of. if third eye blind was on the radio as much as all the other shitty music thats out right now, theyd be just as popluar. theres alot of awesome bands out there but no one would know considering they listen to the same type of techno shit all the time. people need to expand their minds when it comes to music

  • true dat

  • @pennstate51ftw You know what I've started doing man? I call up my local radio station, not a rap/techno playing one, but a station that plays like alternative/soft rock whatever, and I request third eye blind songs that haven;t made their way to radio yet. So far, and successfully, I've had my local station play Losing A Whole Year, DARKNESS (long song for the radio, but i was ecstatic when they played the whole thing), and Thanks A Lot. Trying to spread their music myself haha

  • @ScoI291 That is effing badass!

  • @richt3211 Haha yea man, give it a try. Not like their gonna say, "Umm no. Now hang the fuck up." They'll do it. Just make sure the song isn't one with any explicit language, because most likely that song won't have a clean version, so yeah... I say go for it. It's really cool hearing it on the radio too, because it's like man, I know this song is soo effing awesome, and at the same time people are hearing it with me, possibly for the first time.

  • this song fillls me upppp mmmmmm

  • it's refreshing (rare) to see a video with so many positive comments

  • right on man....i don't see one internet douche

  • @Auddiec Check out some oasis vids if your into them, a lot of their vides contain crazy amounts of thumbs up. You can recognize a good bad when theyre melodies bring hardened keyboard bashing trash talking commenters together on a little agreement and a thumbs up

  • ive tripped out to this song so harddddddd ... beautiful.

  • theres no hope for people.

  • Yeah. Like you and me.

  • "I want someone to know me, maybe tell me who i am." Best Third Eye Blind song..... ever.

  • bring me the sun cuz I slide off the moon....

  • great song....i like the melody of the song more than the lyrics

  • Darkness = Best off blue, no questions asked. Although that's hard for me to say because I like a lot of songs on Blue. As one of you said, it captures human emotions in such a grand manner. The song is just epic.

  • whether some of their more popular songs are considered commerical or not, all of their songs have amazing lyrics that have deeper meaning (except for the scooby do cover haha) so who gives a shit if theyre popular-theyre great!

  • great song

  • So glad someone put this up. I firmly believe that if they had released this song with an actual video after the success of "never let you go", that this would have been a HUGE hit and the album would have had better sales. This song captures the power of human emotions and is just so moving. Love it

  • their more obscure stuff is just beauty. Pure beauty and poetry. It's a shame that most people have only heard their commercial crap.

  • i know. if i hear another myspace song or a teenage girl singing jumper i might punch them.

  • You obviously don't fully understand the meaning and purpose of that song if you actually get angry when you hear someone listening to/enjoying a masterpiece like Jumper.

  • please stop while youre ahead. i never said i didnt like the song. i said i get annoyed when people hear jumper for the first time and act all deep. they heard it in a movie or something like Yes Man and suddenly, their 3eb's biggest fan.

i happen to have every single album theyve ever thought about making.

  • They're 3eb's biggest fan? Maybe they just really like the song and the lyrics mean a lot to them? Are you better than them because you've listened to Third Eye Blind for longer? You have every album they've though about making? I'm pretty sure you don't have UM or Um.

  • You consider singles such as "Jumper", "Semi-Charmed Life", "How's It Gonna Be?", "Losing A Whole Year", "Never Let You Go", "Deep Inside Of You", "Blinded", "Anything", and "Crystal Baller" commercial crap. wow....

  • Was Crystal Baller ever released as a single? I didnt think it was. I have always thought if it got radio play it would blow up because of how catchy it is. Maybe I am wrong.

  • exactly, all those songs are genius! I don't understand why people have to hate every commercial song and only love shit is less known. I guess they think that makes them cooler or sum shit like that. w/e. I ain't biased, I love commercial, underground, unreleased, etc.

  • CRAP!? Are u serious, commercial or not, all their shit is awesome! I don't know why people hate on fuckin mainstream so much. Just like what you like and that's it.

  • I agree with and love all the comments I just glanced at and have to say you all said it right. I would also like to thank Cleo for the video to this song It is perfect! You really captured the songs essence. There is a posting outhere of their song Motorcycle Driveby that was done in this fashion and it is also perfect. 3EB rules! Thank you

  • This song is what I recognize as their break up song. This is the piece that is hard to bear for any overly-sensitive listener.

  • je 'aime tellement, c'est un peu incroyable.

c'est le type de chanson qu'on peut ecouter vingt fois sans devenir fatigue de la musique.

  • LIGHTS!!!!!

  • And the world darkens around me...

  • In my opinion, this is the best song on the album.

    The lyrics are great!

  • Hands down! I just want to quote the whole song because every line is so damn perfect. Hands down one of th best song writers out there.

  • awesome song...gonna see them june 9th in houston

  • ....another day begins....

  • This song reminds me of Smashing Pumpkins - Mayonnaise, two of my favorites

  • I always liked third eye blind. Too bad there's only like two songs they every play on the radio. Semi charmed and who's it gonna be. Good songs sure, but they did a lot more then that.

  • "How's It Gonna Be"* :)

  • I had this album, back in the day... this was one of my favorites on there: I think it was the last track.

  • this may be nerdy but i was playing nazi zombies on call of duty. and all my teammates died on me, and this song came on random and like 30 zombies surrounded me and i managed to get out somehow and i ran and ran and ran and i turned on the electrical fence and a blood was everywhere and everthing was burning and the solo from this song started and i ran for it again and a bigass horde came at me and i died instantly and the outro came on and i was laughing my ass off. timing was amazing

  • dude that is the most nerdy computer-love thing i've ever heard in a very long time and i program the Linux kernel for a living! I'm trying not to laugh as hard as I possibly can and embarrass myself in front of my coworkers.

  • are you kidding or are you just retarded?

  • Ah, Alex, I'm going to say "What is retarded?"

Seriously, they're not emo. the term you're looking for is "Kickass". As in awesome, fantastic, supercrazycool. :D

  • of course they're emo. emo is emotive, meaning they perform their music with passion and emotion far beyond the crap most people listen to.

  • why does everyone hate on EMO? i dont understand.

  • Because they don't know the actual meaning of the term emo. They think it's about cutting yourself and screaming your life sucks.

If people knew the actual meaning of emo, they'd probably all be calling their favorite bands it. Dumbbbbbbb

  • people hate the propa emos who have black side partings and hurt themselves lol i wouldnt class this as emo music anyway.. id say more on the lines of ... AWESOME

  • HELL YEAH!!

  • Good song. Best song from this album is still "The Red Summer Sun," but all tracks on it are great.

  • To each his own, IMO Darkness is one of their very best, if not the best.

  • ONE OF the greatest songs EVER

  • I like all three albums but the first in my opinion is my favorite through and through, every song is great though i tend to skip through the radio ones sometimes

  • This is my favourite outro ever. I wish there was just 3 mins of the outro that keeps overlaying and more layers keep getting added.

  • yea its one of my favorites too

  • The outro is what makes it so great. The song is fabulous, but the outro just made it ridiculous. As in, ridiculously amazingly unbelievable. I just almost can't believe it. The sound at the end of the song reminds me of walking down a street at night, in the middle of no where, looking up at the moon in November

  • @Storm88000 The outro is my favorite part of the song as well. It has such a sad, gloomy, kinda...um...drowsy sort of tone to it, one that kinda sweeps you away...and it pisses me off that I've been playing guitar for 15 years and I still can't figure out how to play that part! Lol

  • This is one of my fav songs of all time. Only 3EB can make a song as powerful as this.

  • Fucking amazing song. It's a shame that Third Eye Blind had to disintegrate the way they did, losing Kevin Cadogan in the process. At least we'll always have their first two albums, if nothing else...

  • What about the third, and upcoming albums?! Those are awesome too! Crystal Baller, Non Dairy Creamer - awesome songs!

  • Best song they've ever done. Yes I know that means it's better than God of Wine.

  • Bring me the sun!!

  • :o awesome song!!!!

  • woah dude this song blew me away

  • its a good song. lol blew u away

  • lol yes bella the song literally blew me out of my chair

  • :O woah noo way!! lol

  • :O pen blew out of his chair!!?!? must not be a good chair.

  • aww.. i love tony :(

  • Epic!

  • cadogan = God

you might say hes not great at guitar or he cant play arpeggios 90 mph but when you figure out how to put all your emotions through your music, i think thats what being a good guitar player is

  • i AGREE. I obviously prefer Kevin over Tony. There's just something about Kevin's uncommon ability to phrase a song and sustain notes like Gilmour that separates him from most guitarists of his generation. I play the violin (& piano) and I feel like Kevin is playing the violin on the guitar. It's quite a musical experience for me. I don't know how else to describe it.

  • so true man

  • I luv the pic in 1:19

  • Lights!!!!

  • Muitoo bom o videooo

    =D

  • this song is amazing.

it's even better when you listen to it during a late-night walk through the neighborhood.

    especially under a full moon.

Blue wouldn't be the album it is without this song.

  • wow, I can totally relate to this song!

  • never let you go rulz!!!!!!!!!

  • This song creeps into my soul, and takes me over... it has a mysical feeling to it... especially when listened to on a cold bitter rainy day

  • I lovethe part where it shows Link. Its really Ironic because this song already made me think of Zeld, and I was just thinking about it and then It shows up in the video.

  • This song takes me to another world, were everything is nice and peacful. I want to go there so bad.

  • They still have yet to make a bad song.

  • Sorry for the double post, but this is such a beautiful song

  • New ideas in my head start to burn
