Great clip,... this really helped me in my decision between a plexi or JTM45. Go check out the vid I posted of some clips I made with my JTM45 and '58 RI Les Paul. Thanks again, you are a great player.
Groovy! Is that the amp breaking up on it's own or do you have an over drive pedal or a Hotplate? No pre amp gain on that I assume....I play all amps with no pre amp gain...old Fenders and Marshalls. Have good luck with a Power Soak, Tube Screamers, Fuzz faces etc.... Really enjoyed your video on the building of the amp.
That's cool...not too loud then? Usually not much call for super loud amps these days ya know! How many watts? I also use little Princetons and Champs....plenty good for a lot of stuff! Not everyone considers power tube od....good thing to strive for. That amp looked superb on the construction video.
It's amazing how the best tone most guitarists have heard, regardless of their playing style, is a decent guitar into a hand-wired tube amp cranked up to head-splitting volumes! Simple and SWEET!
Sounds fantastic! I have the Metro 68 Plexi 50 watt on the way. So after hearing your clips, needless to say, I'm chompin at the bit and can't to fire her up.
I've got a '96 Es 335 and wondered what your thoughts would be if I put Throbak's in it. I've only heard them in yours & Dan's LP's,but I wondered if it would make that much of a difference in something like a 335? ;I've got a set of Timbuckers in my LP,but am always interested in trying something to improve my tone. Thanks
Great playing, and what incredible tones in every position. I love semi-hollows, but that one has got to be the best I've ever heard. Been talking about swapping this high gain 3 channel amp head I've got with a mate for his JTM45 - this vid kind of sealed the deal for me. Thanks!
.Sounds Killer. What kind of pups are in that beaut.? And what volume were you at on the amp and axe ? thanks.

Fantastic! Do you mind if I steal a bunch of your Clapton licks? There's TONS of gold in this video.
Thanks again!

so i take it the metro amp is a clone type of take of the marshall?
roaringwaterbay 2 years ago
Yes, better than any new JTM45 you'll ever get from Marshall. And equally as good and better in some ways than the original.

If you can solder and follow instructions to the letter, you'll have great success. Thanks for the comment.
