  • All he does is talk and talk and talk? And does not show anything? Fuck You!

  • they are probably gonna come out with a game system: ChromeSphere 1080

  • and if you don't pay your internet you will be fuck lol

  • wait what? all my files are stored on a network server? then where do I hide all my child pronography from the FBI? *cough* ... I mean... where do I keep my grandmother's secret cookie reciped safe from... hackers... yeah?

  • its hittler

  • Google made a pretty bad fuck up with this. It would be alright if everywhere you went there was internet, but that's not the case.

I don't how they'll attract major attention to this OS.

  • Why google choose cloud computing? So that they could see your every file, text document, or what ever you use on your Chormium OS

  • fucking i already download but not install this shits yet(some people said=this shits work like a cloud)very hard 2 look 4 things like windows....i rather boot up 4 sec slower but than learn this new shit very headache 4 me :D

  • I'm sticking with windows for gaming since right now I don't think that Chrome OS can handle any gaming over the internet yet. I think that other Linux OS might be able to handle gaming with more ease.

  • I love the idea of Chrome OS except for a few things. I'm not so sure how I would be able to store my music on my computer because Google doesn't have an app for music yet. Of all the demos I've seen the Chrome OS tablet looks just like an iPad and you can't do anything on the virtual keyboard on the iPad. Other than these things I am very excited about Chrome OS, but I'll probably wait until around the second version to buy.

  • Google Chrome OS sucks totally. Internet's one thing, computer is other. With the internet "owning" our documents, government will start monitoring people more than it already monitorates! Bye bye cracked programs and we won't be free anymore. And the worst thing I can imagine is that we can't do anything, because all OS will be like Chrom OS sooner or later.

We're fucked. More than we're right now. ._.

  • @EpicnessPivotMaster Yes, I do not wish fo someone to be having full excess, especially if it is by an employee of Google. Thx, but I'd rather have control on my stuf than lift the weights of it, only to find government placing bigger weights on me as well. And employees.

  • Useless

  • Епать пиздел 5 минут и нихира не показали

  • he's reading? lol..

  • This isn't a real OS this is just Chrome with several extra tabs and it will be practically useless when there isn't internet available

  • TO MUCH bla bla lbllla

  • what about drivers of diff hardwares??

  • Chrome os cant game =D

  • yup there gona take over the world..

  • i think it would be useful for certain devices (like the ipad) which are kinda fun and have their place but are not "real" computers

  • ahh man i cant get this i have no internet fuck

  • @orangeluva56 then howd did u post this?

  • Oh yea, and guess what, our Government is trying to create a bill to have an internet "Kill Switch" for the president. So where will your files be when our government decides to shut down the internet?

  • @Mayhem84 is that in conjunction with the mass sterilization program?

  • @jcoronet2000 Nope that was part of the Healthcare bill that already passed earlier this year. Google "Bill Gates Death Panel"

  • @Mayhem84 by our government who are you talking about.

  • @SUPERMARl064 sorry occasionally forget youtube is international, In the United States.

  • @Mayhem84 Just to let you know, the world in general would never let America get the power to control such a huge communication world wide. If America was to ever attempt to have this power they would be denied by every country in the world.

  • @SUPERMARl064 Ok we seem to be lost in translation here I'm not saying the world, just all Americans. They are using China as an example whenever they talk about controlling the internet China's government has complete control over the internet in their country and elements in our government are trying to achieve the same power to do so, and it had nothing to do with the rest of the world at all.

  • @SUPERMARl064 Um, your mislead just to let you know but thats ok with most Americans until you run across me who will tell you some things need sorting out and one of them would be about the world and the internet which the defense department invented creating the global interconnection of government, education, and business computer networks.

  • Basically it's the Chrome Browser as an OS personally I'd rather a "Full Featured" OS with the Chrome Browser.

  • this is stupid what if i whant to play mass effect? it will lag as hell

  • 1. servers can crash or have maintenance

    2. internet is not working

    The big design flaws.

  • Servers can crash, but most servers are setup in a way much like RAID, so that if one server crashes, has to go in for maintenance, catches on fire, blows up, etc. Then you will simply be able to run off the back up and you wouldn't even notice.

That is why cloud storage always says its safer.

  • Comment removed

  • @sebbomm

    They already do that...

  • Yeah the biggest anti-christ who has complete control on ur personal items and stamp 666 on ur stored items.jk.

  • i dont think it would be good for me, because i play alot of games like half life 2 and steam based games. and im not sure if it will be able to play or let you have them

  • Another big problem with cloud based OS's, is... what happens if you want to use it, maybe in the car, or in your cabin or something like that? Someplace WITHOUT internet. You're screwed. Until the internet is free, I don't think cloud based OS's are going to be that popular.

  • i totally agree with that. and Let say everyting is stored and u have internet connections, wouldnt it take time like a downloading duration to retrieve what has been stored up from the cloud? or would it be like a click away then i could listen to my mp3 song?

  • @Tommydudez You're somewhat right. Something as simple as an MP3 song will probably be able to stream (as long as your not using DSL or worse), but let's say gaming... there is no way that you'de be able to stream the amount of data that a game, such as MW2, needs to run. Waiting for a map to load would take 10 minutes or more, and if you had to install it on your own computer, then upload it to the cloud, you might as well give up. Ever try uploading 7GB? It's not fun.

  • linux has many cloud os's i think

  • @Tutuze4armenia Seriously? Can you name a few? I'd love to check them out.

  • don't you know? clouds rain on you. :-) the day i can no longer get a full featured desktop operating system for my computer. is the day i no longer own a computer. i somewhat feel the same about net neutrality. once that is gone so is my computer. :-)

  • meh, whatever floats your boat, but id rather have my stuff stored on my computer

  • no offline files? =^\

  • jon, was your tongue burnt when you filmed this?

  • What the fuck are you supposed to do if you don't have internet?

  • The OS is just meant for netbooks not desktops.

  • good work joe ;)

  • thats a stupid OS.....

  • Next in Recommendations: Hiroshima Atomic Bomb Reemactment.

    Figures.

  • @Acceptable76 Mine is called "Nerf Wars" :P

  • @isummit29 LOL.

  • I think it would be cool but what if someone hacks you or w/e and gets your ID and PW? Then you are screwed big time..

  • I dont think, I will like to not save my files on my harddisk. Besides that, it is a pretty interesting project!

  • I for one welcome our google overlords!

  • poop ----- next product !

  • wat if they shut of ur interwebs?

  • Chrome OS is not a Linux rival, it is a Linux variant. The whole OS is Unix-like, but light weight and targeted at some specific thing, just like the Xbox 360, which has a Win2000 kernel, is stripped down for specific execution.

  • lol this os sucks in my opinion i think their real goal is to steal your files

  • @computertrick Yes as you say it. I don't like the idea, and I think that this is already a fail. The guys should make a lite linux distro with the Chrome browser in the Konqueror's position, and nothing else. This distro had to be rich in hardware recognition so it would target mobile devices.

  • this is what i think too and i think religiously, they may be the anti-christ who steals all ur items and folders from the cloud, and execute their agenda like a triple 6 thing.

  • funny i thought i would see more than just someone talk an actual review, google your either slacking or somethings up.

  • i doubt this will really catch a lot of peoples eye

  • I think it's good for ppls who only using cpu to internet browsing.

    Unuseable for ofices,gamers etc...

  • this is the future

  • @tzandmannetje No it is not. This is the past. :-( It's just the terminals of the early 80s decade connected to mainframe computers, they had nothing but a screen and the keyboard, not even a diskette drive to store a program or file. Everything had to be stored or recovered by the mainframe's main disk unit, aka your files were not actually "your's", the same way they were working at institutions / universities, during that era, you had to ask the admin to print your file, or give it to you

  • I hope I do not have to use only Gmail. Hope I can use Windows Live, AOl or Mail.

  • Chrome OS: What it is? Its gay, nothing else.

  • stop reading from the cues to your right...it's soo damn obvious man!

  • @crowdpower Obama does it...

  • well the whole idea of cloud computing or files stored on network servers is just so weird and seems very unsafe no matter how people said how safe it is.

  • totally agree.what if i stored my pornos there and i cant watch it without net?

  • ya, cool, but the strength of web apps at this point has nothing on downloaded programs... like google docs; good idea, not strong enough yet. unless they step up their web apps when they release chrome os, i don't see it taking over linux or anything

  • get the heck out of my page, you work for youtube and google owns youtube, go play someone else ;-)

  • @OstiaTeen And I bet they're running Windows which is unnecessary for that purpose.

  • Honestly if they improved google docs a bit, I would have no reason to stick with "ground" computing. US needs to get with the rest of the world on broadband though.

  • im pretty sure every school in the world does that fucktard

  • there are no files kept on the google acount its just web apps no software at all

  • @slag212121

Yh tey probably are going to make shit like default partioning INSIDE the os and like weird ways to move from one to the other and rlly kewl stuff

  • google is taking over the fucking world!! :O!!!

  • @GrimVernox LOL ya!

  • @GrimVernox so true.

  • @GrimVernox Next Google product: Google Chrome Mental Controller - Allow your mind to control (and get controlled by) your browser.

  • @GrimVernox Google is the Microsoft of 2010s.

  • @GrimVernox This is the actual meaning of 2012

  • @GrimVernox They haven't already?

  • Seriously in think Google will eventually beets Microsoft in the future.

  • hopefully

  • probably got payed for it by youtube

  • hope it can fit on a flash drive the would be very handy :D

  • To be honest it is a joke to me. Because all it is Chrome but with just a bit of extra features, I would never survive with that kind of OS. And I think that it's a loss because of gamers.

  • hey i like it but i think it has a chance just give it time

  • u got so good mimicry! :D

  • well, i totally support chrome OS but it's abit sad i can't use msn messenger. hehe

  • well this will be great if installed beside aclient OS(Win,Mac) because the truce is that i cant give up the option of saving my data localy Chrome will be grat when u open ur Pc intending to do web tasks Plus though i Greatly respect Google's concepts internet connection in ALOT of countries around the world is simply not stableor fast enough to support OSs depending mainly in itsopertion on internet connection.

  • it is good for netbook's

  • so u hav to connect to internet to use this OS rite ? not very convenient tho

  • Well, All Mighty Google is working on that my friend. Its called HTML5 and its very good with offline work. You'll be able to use Google Docs or Picasa... and as soon as you find a wifi source, your info will be uploaded onto the cloud.

I was a bit disappointed at first too, but I realized that even with my windows 7 laptop, all I do is chrome. it becomes pretty much useless without internet. Google is smart, very smart.

  • so if you dont have access to the internet, chromOS is practically useless

  • omg , can u install a real game like gta4 or something and then go to your friends comp and play it? cool!

  • that wouldt work, it would lagg to much... and gta4 is only for windows i think, maybe mac os

  • ehhh no.

  • ok, now i know that u can't because of the internet connection is to slow and the OS doesn't support those games, was that the reason you thought about?

  • sure u can and that will be after 2 hours of 'retrieving it' if not 4 hours.

  • thanks for this now i see this OS is not for me

  • Well, I'll probably try it in virtualbox, but for now I'm good with ubuntu and vista.

  • Cloud based OS's scare me. If I want anyone to be in charge of securing my data, it has to be me. Not to mention what would happen if cloud-based OS's become the norm. Pay-per use.. scary thought in the hands of corporations. Although I am a big supporter of Google inventions, I wouldn't support this.

  • What other cloud based OS's are there? lol.

  • @macfahad it's a cloud system, and these corporations are NOT able to search ure "data" or they will be punished by law.besides in a few years these "files" will not be stored in one monopolyzed company but in many, and in fact it's way better, cause we will not need a big hard drive.

  • how abt retrieval time to get the things stored away? ok,u may not understand this. when u store things in the cloud,u need to sort of like a upload time and download time when u need to retrieve them. so woulndt it take time let say i wanna retrieve my mp3 songs from it (which is like a downloading duration)? or would it be just one click away?

  • @macfahad Yeah and what if someone steams your Login info LOL!

  • @macfahad Don't worry man, it's already a fail. MS also tried this in the MS office and failed. Every one wants to secure and keep his documents on his own media, also wants to be net independent. DSLs / Cables / Modems or ISPs are not always working, and of course you want to work off line or only inside your company's own network.

  • @macfahad You've made some VERY valid points.

  • I downloaded and installed Chrome OS in a Virtual Machine for a test drive. Posted a video walk through here if anyones interested in checking it out!

  • i dont trust my files being on the internet and besides i think this is gonna suck.

  • will chrome os have a clock and a calculator?

  • are you serious:D?

  • The Zeitgesit has a foot in the door, finally.

  • is this a joke? this has got to be a joke

  • put a shrimp on the barbie

  • @TheParallex haha Your AWESOME!!!!!

LET'S CHUCK ANOTHER SHRIMP ON THE BARBIIE:D

  • y did u put @theparallex lol

and its just a joke between me and another perno lol

  • SORRY man ur username poped in already when i clicked REPLAY here to write ya comment ;-)

  • na its ok i had the same problem the other day

just wanted to no if u wrote it or not

  • "aye guys!"

    lol

  • ur funny arnt you

  • so if one crashes all will crash thats a great idea

  • this is a horrible idea, if someone hacks your account, they can see all your stuff

  • haha just make sure you make a really long user name lol

  • it would be the same for emails, isnt it? LOL..are you stopping using emails?

  • This is not for children but for the grown up person. Young children must go in normal school. Warning if this Internet school system are to be used then make sure you are not making food etc.

  • The future for tommorow of student are being at home and using laptop or PC computer with this i think you may have more student at the same time and save money for building a school.

  • I would love to have Chrome OS on a netbook Dx

But not as my main OS.

  • wtf you asshole, why is this 4;35 of you talking... who wants to watch that!!!!

  • hes pretty successful just talking

  • Dude he's not just talking - he knows what he's doing!

  • You did.

  • This is fucking brilliant.

Now when the FBI tries to raid my kiddy porn Google is going to have to go down for possession. xD

  • No, it's more like they no longer need a search warrant, they'll just subpoena google for all your, uhm, stuff.

  • An OS dedicated to surfing porn..hmm...

  • cant wait ill give it a go

  • i see security issues, i feel its better to have your data stored with you rather than someone else, good concept though

  • Cloud based programs do tend to be awesome, ie steam, itunes, and mobile me. However, I do take a little comfort in knowing that I can download my files and they're on my pc. The only real working application of the Chrome OS is probably going to be in the work place for two reasons. 1) The machine required can be old as hell and do the job and 2) Now people can work from home a lot easier. Unless Google intends to make some new device for this OS, I can't say I'm sold on the idea.

  • Chrome OS will not be available for download on just any machine. They will come with Chrome OS machines late 2010.

  • @ginopunsalan thats pretty gay i was gonna get it

  • Developer VM images are available on the net but it is nothing more than a browser.

  • wait how can your computer boot the OS from the BIOS when there are no files on your computer?

  • i rather have my files on my computer

  • hell no. google stalks ppl over google talk and gmail and such. im not gunna install an os for them to stalk me 24/7

i dont trust google for my stuff.

  • Then why are you using YouTube?

  • That argument is a little unfair. Youtube gives you the option of which videos you'd like to upload and which you don't, it's not like everything you have on your camera goes directly to the web.

  • im using youtube cuz theres no other site that can compare

  • That's why i browse with Firefox

  • WTF??files saved on server???i don't want 'em to have control of my files

  • i will get it after 100 years when everything is internet even us......xD

  • i feel that Chrome OS is ahead of its time. wi-fi hotspots aren't everywhere and not everyone has internet connection. i don't wanna go to starbucks everytime i have to save a document when i'm on the go.

  • Uh...yeah, I'm gonna complete five years of research--MY RESEARCH--with 120 pages of source citations to defend the facts set out in my book (evolutionary psychology) and I am supposed to become comfortable with the idea of having all this material stored on a Goober server????? No way! Netbooks have the highest return rate than any electronic product, or so I'm told by Best Buy. They are useless...and who will trust google, who informs on Chinese dissidents working for democracy??? Any takers??

  • That's why I hate where I live. God damn data limits are pissing me off

  • Cloud OS are not my most favorable choice for an OS, just mainly due to the fact that anyone with your username and password can easily hack your files

  • Sounds shit to me.

  • Google is taking over the world.

  • indeedy they are...and DROID is a badass phone...cant stop Google-it will not stop till it is over all tech

  • I heard about the skynet thing as well, lol. I think its TRUE!!!!! lol

  • Overheard Google also admitted to being SKYNET. Is it TRUE? LoL or ~LoL?

  • "Chrome OS release early next year" I thought I heard him say they are a year away from release...?

  • Trying to sound out what the links for these YouTube videos is fun!

  • easy peasy linux is a much better choice

  • Who cares ? As long as I can watch porn, I'll use any browser...lol

  • no HDD`s cause of the latency

  • Google already has far too much information on just about everybody in the world... If they also have all of our files, documents etc. They would probably have enough information to conquer the world... Linux, Windows, Mac OS X FTW!

  • A thousand votes to your comment Andrew!

The rest of the world.. so oblivious.

  • what a moron this guy is

  • well, google did a good job with google chrome. its the best browser I have

  • this things really gonna work in future... but cant say about now....

not every1 has a very fast internet connection... some dont even hav internet connection...

  • so you will have to download your own videos and photos everytime you want to see it....???

  • Wow this is going to fail. Linux ftw.
