  • kitty is a kitty, not matter big or small

  • peace and love to mt lions

  • For all you mountain lion , wolf hunting idiots , more people are attacked by dogs and snakes each year than people are attacked by mountain lions over one hundred years .

  • Do you realize that you are only as likely to be attacked by a gun wielding mugger in NY City as to be attacked by a cougar in the Rocky Mountains? Free all muggers and free your soul!

  • It really is so easy to avoid being attacked by a mountain lion. Don't kill them.

  • With half a brain and 5 minutes of research you can figure out that hunting mountain lions if pointless. And most argument for it are baseless and ignorant

But don't take my work for it, go look it up yourself. There are plenty of legitimate sources on the topic.

  • Right, its not because of urban expansion...its because we aren't killing enough them. Do you realize how ass backwards this logic is? A mountain lion will NEVER attack a human unless its provoked or starving. Shit, they will run if they see humans. They also run from my 40lb border collie. Don;t be a dumbass and fall for this bullshit propaganda put out by hunters, they just make shit up to justify their hunting desires.

  • Sometimes I wish I was a fucking cougar. Going around chasing down deer and shit. Then laying around in the sun. If anyone came up to me id pounce on em. Rawrr.

  • just cause an attack isn't "confirmed" doesn't mean it never happened. i know quite a few people who have been attacked, and have been stalked several times myself. also the majority of people live in the city. plus keeping the cougar population down keeps the livestock alive and the environment from becoming uninhabited by deer and other such prey.

  • @ghag17 You know quite a few people who have been attacked...I'm calling total bull shit on this one, nice try.

  • @csbob2010 you can call bull all you want, it makes no difference upon reality, and reality is this. cougars roaming unchecked in the wild means devastation of the environment, devastation of farmers livestock, and also a dangerous threat to anyone nearby.

  • @csbob2010 also one more thing, just because certain people may not have enough honor or respect for those who they disagree with to keep the information in their discussion truthful, doesn't mean that as soon as someone presents to you a different point of view that you can assume they are lying.

i, unlike many, live far beyond the reaches of town, where i am able to observe and experience these creatures firsthand, which is much better than any book about wildlife.

  • @ghag17 I assume your lying because no shroud of evidence will support your claim. Mountain lions don't attack humans unless provoked or starvation. They will run from the sight, or even smell of humans. Even a full scale hunting season for mountain lions would only deplete the population by 10%. This would have virtually no impact on the amount of mountain lion attacks. Don't expect people to believe your outlandish claims, then admonish their logic for not believing you. Makes you look bad.

  • @csbob2010 lol i take it you must live in the city? how much the cougar population would be depleted by full scale hunting depends on whether or not dogs are used. without dogs you are correct, with dogs you are very much mistaken. mountain lions often attack or check out people out of mere curiosity. they are cats, and cats are naturally curious. another thing about cats is that if they think you are frightened of them, then you automatically become prey. they will also attack if they are mad.

  • @ghag17 They wouldn't make hunting them with dogs legal, that wouldn't even make sense. Unless you are trying to wipe out their species, that would be pretty stupid. I'm not making this shit up, there is plenty of long term research out there that supports the fact that hunting them to deplete their population would be ineffective. Even with rapid urban expansion, mountain lion attacks remain relatively the same as they did 30 years ago.

  • @csbob2010 because the majority of the human population live in the cities, and if that were to change, "confimed" attacks would skyrocket. also being a threat to people is only one of many reasons to hunt them. they practically wipe out the wildlife in the area, and the livestock as well. on an indian reserve north of me, where almost nobody cares enough to do anything, the deer are almost entirely wiped out, and a friend of ours lost over 200 baby horses to cougars within one spring.

  • @csbob2010 also one other thing, we don't try to wipe the cougar population out, we only want to hunt with dogs so we can keep the population from going out of control, like it is on the indian reservation i mentioned. already our area is being affected as well, though not quite as bad, yet. we used to have 400 mule deer winter on our place, and you could always see incredible bucks (seeing an 8 by 8 point buck wasn't unusual. now it's just 100 and decreasing, with only spikers.

  • @ghag17 As long as there is a food source, they will keep coming. Doesn't seem like a problem that people should take into their own hands. These things balance themselves out. With that same logic you could say that since there are too many mountain lions...we should kill more deer and rabbits so they starve and go away. Maybe I'm wrong, I don't know. Hunters getting upset because they can't hunt as much so they take it out on a local predator doesn't seem right to me.

  • @csbob2010 yes i do hunt, but that isn't the reason i hate not having wildlife. i don't like the idea of having to live in a wasteland. the cougars will never completely leave, so the deer will not come back. the indian reservation has been the way it is for a long time, though it did get a little worse after hunting with dogs was made illegal. it never balanced out, because the cougars were not under control. i also don't appreciate it being almost suicidal to take a hike without carrying a gun

  • Kitty takin' a nap....they are the only big cat that can roar AND purr!!! I got to pet, play deal with? one a few years ago...very nice cat...fun to watch...really soft.....

  • more people die from car crashes, dog attacks, and falling from the stairs. if you guys want to stop senseless deaths, you know what to do. destroy all cars, dogs, and stairs!

  • He's just laying there on his rock lol

  • Reminds me more people are killed by Moose then they are Mountain Lions, weird isn't it?

  • cats are so lazy...

  • it looks scared

  • Awesome animal ... leave them in peace!

  • we just want ot peeeet yooouuuuuuuuuu!!!

  • cougar !

  • what a magnificent cat love it the king sunning thierself

  • its just a big cat

  • Aww. He's got himself quite the nice spot if I do say so myself! :)

  • Millions of people die in car-accidents each year.

It would be more useful to destroyy cars than cougars, wolfes or whatever.

If they really want to protect people.

    beautyful animal btw

  • @fordgtrcr a real hunter can wrestle an animal to the ground with his bare hands. Guns are for pussies, Romans could do it without guns.

  • @SarethZhukov314 youre talking shit on the internet u fag

  • @lfscouts24 ? Grow up, i wasn't talking "shit" i was just saying. "u fag" lol nice insult. Spare me the indignity of seeing any more stupid assumptions and replies you seek to respond with. Now, get back in your cage and finish your rat, slave.

  • @SarethZhukov314 your fighting on the internet man i love u

  • he tyred.

  • no way! i think seeing a mountian lion is like the hardest thing to see in yellowstone! your soo lucky!

  • CUTE

  • I had a friend who was hunting in interior BC Canada a couple years back. Im not sure what they were hunting probably just dear, but they heard a crack behind them and when they turned around a cougar was actually airborne lunging towards them and were lucky enough to hit it.

  • Do you realize there have only been 100 confirmed Mountain Lion attacks in the last 50 yrs ?

Chances are your friends murdered a lion because they have small dicks.

    Ps,,,Deer !

  • Who fucking cares how many attacks there are, especially when I am talking about a completely different country.

Just because there was 100 attacks doesn't mean it won't happen, and it also wasn't an attack.

Use your fucking brain when you try to think you know what you are talking about.

  • Yeah you should try it....And those 100 attacks are across the species entire range Central mexico - Northern canada.

Typical reaction by someone caught spreading BS .

  • @rahowr lol i know lol is a pointless comment but i think it deserves a lol

  • @rahowr Ya they really are beautiful animals, but they are on earth for human consumption and utalization. Hunting them should be allowed just as long as we maintain their population count.

  • @michaelbarrettm107 That's mighty white of you!

  • @lakotaize ???

  • @michaelbarrettm107 Here for human consumption and utilization? That could be one of the most ignorant statements I've heard. I was just drawing the conclusion that your white simply because they have never understood living with nature, they only understand how to live above it. Disconnection has been the demise of all life since the white man set foot on this continent. a plague if you will......

  • @lakotaize I live on a Ranch in the Arizona mountains i've spent more time outdoors and with nature than you probably ever will.

  • @michaelbarrettm107 too funny! I live in Wyoming. I spend most of my time in the mountains. You have absolutely nothing on me there.. try again....

  • @michaelbarrettm107 Don't feel alone thou, there is still plenty of ignorance out there with ideals of dominion. Their dis connection with the natural world has caused them to label what us natives saw as a "garden of eden" as a WILDerness. Something WILD that needed to be tamed. Never understanding how to live with, but only above nature. The invaders of this land brought these ideals, thus a destruction of the land and the people incurred. Keep your ways! Your grandkids will think you a fool.

  • @lakotaize You just embarassed yourself bro.........

  • @michaelbarrettm107 Hardly! your clearly the fool on this topic. Especially if that's your best rebuttal...

  • Comment removed

  • @michaelbarrettm107 can' t help but laugh at your ignorance thou. Keep us entertained with your views. You optimize white mans culture. The ability to rape and pillage with disregard of future generations. Pure Comedy!!!!

  • @lakotaize I feel dumber for some reason...... you make no sense

  • @michaelbarrettm107 Your lack of wits doesn't surprise me...

  • @lakotaize You don't know me. I have a 4.2 GPA your attempt at sounding smart just makes you seem more like a douche bag.

  • @michaelbarrettm107 There's a pretty good chance that somewhere in this world, a hairy guy named Harris is harassing someone. Possibly even sexually.

  • @michaelbarrettm107 Too funny you think your GPA makes you "smart". Your opening statement still makes you a fool! I was a biologist for a few years and now i work with a museum. As you get older you will see how your culture has been abusive to the natural world. I don't expect you to comprehend you to comprehend this now. Eventually you will see how your ideals have been a plague to the natural world and has created a disconnection life! Your "kill'em all" attitude is F*#ked up!

  • @michaelbarrettm107 Too funny that you think your GPA makes you "smart". Your opening statement still makes you a fool! You are a very good representation of your culture. A culture that only understands killing what they don't understand. Your ideals have been proven ignorant, not your fault really, you were taught to be dumb. Hopefully someday you'll understand the stupidity of your ideals. lets hope it doesn't end up being to late.....

  • @lakotaize Honestly, you make no sense and your embarassing yourself and showing everybody how big of a douche bag you are. Get laid bro and move out of your mothers house

  • @rahowr actually, mountain lion attacks are on the rise, due to not being shot. they're losing their fear of humans and are venturing into neighborhoods, towns, and cities.

  • Your an ignorat asshole. Being shot is not why wildlife move into neighborhoods!

  • @DullardGuy ... did you even read my comment? plus, what sort of expertise do you have to go against my argument? are you a naturalist? an expert in mountain lions?

  • @PhantomWerewolf UCSC Environmental Geology, with a minor in History. Yes I read your comment, it sucks!

  • @PhantomWerewolf Wildlife encounters and attacks are on the rise because of the continued encroachment of humans into the habitat of these animals. Mountain lions don't know what "being shot" is. And they won't attack a human for food unless they are injured. It is a defense. We are bothering them.

  • Saw one from my garden yesterday about 4o yards away, just walking by casually. This one looks like he ate a pot brownie of a hippy camper.

  • wow, your brave for even being 40 yds away from a mountain lion! scary

  • We go to Yellowstone every year. I've got some good videos on my channel. We've seen wolves, bears and lots of other great critters, but never a cat yet! You're so lucky!

  • I saw 2 in the Berlin zoo - their huge

  • That's great I've been to Yellowstone in 03 and saw bison, deer, elk, fox, a golden eagle and oddly about 100 or so rats (i think) run across the road around my car and into the woods. No wolves, bear or mountain lion. I'm jealous.

  • Great video!!! Mountain Lions are amazing animals and very rare to see in the wild too. Nothing more intense than staring one in the eyes in the wild at less than a yard. Talk about shivers up your spine.

  • That would be a large male. Looks to be in his prime. Nice!

  • cute

  • ive got to see three of them hunting a dog down in seligman i did research on them and i found out that what i saw was a rare sight cause they are solitary animals they must of been the mom and two cubs ready to leave the pride or nest whatever you would call it

  • That's beautiful, great footage of how lazy and non confrontational these cats are in optimum conditions.

  • I glimpsed one bounding across the road while driving near the South rim of the Grand Canyon ON MY WAY TO SLEEP IN MY TENT. Eerie night, that one.

  • omg no joke i was in yellowstone in may 2005 from may 5th to may 10th thats cool

  • Great shot.

  • Nicely done, Dave. Most people that work in these parks go through life just like the rest of us - never see a mtn. lion in the wild. Very cool.

  • So beautiful!

  • Get that poor thing some pillows or foam or something. No wonder he can't fall asleep, trying to sleep on rocks!

  • Beautiful !!

  • Wow, how luck that you saw one so close. The only wildlife I saw near Tower was some bighorn sheep and ospreys. Not that it wasn't cool to see those, but I've always wanted to see a mountain lion. Never seen one at Rocky Mountain National Park either.

  • Never thought it would happen but a mountain lion resides in a small cave next to the firepit near the woods of my house, every night at around 1AM it would start screaming, short high pitch screams, and stop, then do it again, so weird to know such a creature is roaming around my property. I really want to see it, so far all I got was the yellow eyes from the flashlight and a glimpse of its backside, which is clearly a lion.

  • beautiful. It is my dream to one day be in the presence of a mountain lion.

  • Wow...that's so awesome! How fortunate you are to have had the opportunity to see such a beautiful and elusive creature

  • Very lucky, he looks tired
