  • Maybe curving is a rebellion against Han Chinese hegemony? lol... a way to say, "UP YOURS MAN!" J/K. Actually, maybe they want to be unique and have imported it. Who knows... other minorities use lusheng, so having Hmong style qeej will make them stand out.

  • my dad told me that we curve our qeej upwards towards the sky to show the chinese that nomatter wat they do to us we will always stay strong.. and he told me that the hmong that r still in china dont curve there qeejs upward becouse a long time ago the chinese banded that..couse curving the qeej would be an insult to them.. they wanted to keep our peolpe under them.. something like that...

    Nice video. I like it. It's much more fun to watch than what I usually see here. It seems like I tend to like all Hmong-Chinese stuff more than Hmong-Viet, Thai, and Laos.
